View Full Version : 9500 major flaw for music lovers?

you can't plug in decent headphones into the phone anywhere, no place for a jack to go.

this is a major blow for me as I love the keyboard design of the phone, but I also love listening to mp3's and I ain't gonna do it with the (very crap) nokia headphones that plug into the serial connector at the bottom of the phone, no way!

is there anyway around this perhaps by using a decent bluetooth headphone? does such a thing exist even?

a real shame, the 9500 seems to have it all except for this one most vital feature... I am certain this is a deliberate design feature in order to boost sales of nokia headsets. It so infuriates me I will probably end up buying the Ericsson 910i simply so I can plug in decent headphones to listing to my mp3's...

Modify the Headphone Popport lead with a 3.5mm Female Headphone jack, and then you can add whatever headphones you like :)

that is very cool indeed! my only slight reservation would now be the practicality of the nokia serial attachment. with my old nokia phone 7210 I had it for listening to the radio and it never stayed attached while on the move. It used to come off every few mins so I ended up just walking with my hand over the connection to hold it in place.

Does anyone else find the headphone connection flimsy and annoying or is it just me and my phone?

that is very cool though... I think I will probably try get the 9500 this weekend and get hold of this attachment and a 1 gig MMC card =p

it's still a shame they haven't put a darn jack connector in... but I guess it's probably livable with this device in place as long as it remains fixed to the phone that is...

mucho gracias for the info guys =p

Just to point out - the P800/P900/P910 I doens't have a "normal" headphone jack either, but it does come with a stereo headset - so, my gripe isn't with the actual connector, but with the fact that the supplied headset isn't stereo! Bad Nokia, paha koira!

I agree, that's pretty lame indeed.

I got a mono and a stereo, I guess the dealer must have put it in, thought it was strange getting 2 handsfree kits :D

Lucky you then. :)

I'm still waiting for the damn thing to become available in this stupid little country I'm living in. I would order one from abroad, but I need those 3 stupid extra characters on the keyboard. Grr. Sorry, I'm in a bad mood - sick of waiting.

Well no, the Pxx0 doesn't have a normal connector (as in 3,5mm output), but the 2,5mm output is pretty standard too (converters are found in almost every shop).

Anyway, Raven, we're in the same boat. I mailed my supplier today and they said the Dutch version is not due till December. I hope I will still get it this year

That is also 2.5mm, so you would be using 2 adapters before fitting "regular" headphones :icon13:

And still only for music - no phone hands free... :(
