Ewan finds the Nokia 7710 a good step up from the classic Psion Revo palmtops. Read his feature here (http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/viewarticle.php?id=118)

A brilliant UI indeed! Beautiful too. I'd advice anyone that's interested in learning more about the 7710's interface to download the Nokia 7710 UI Style Guide (http://nds1.forum.nokia.com/nnds/ForumDownloadServlet?id=6183&name=Nokia%5F7710%5FUI%5FStyle%5FGuide%5Fv1%5F0%5F en%2Epdf).

Now if only they'd make a Series 90 Communicator... :icon14:

Raven, it wouldn't surprise me if the 9500 and 9300 were originally designed for Series 90, and then a new UI to look like the old GeOS / Symbian OS Crystal interface was ported to provide a 'comfortable' look and feel.

And I agree, a 9300 with Series 90 and a touchscreen would probably be the closest we could get to an old Psion (this coming from the man who still uses the old Psion to maintain All About Symbian and his life).

Ewan, just out of curiosity what would be the next Symbian device on your shopping list? 7710? 9500? 9300? 6630? Others?
As your primary phone I mean.

The next "phone" with s90 and qwerty won't be called Communictor, this is reservedfor the s80 ui's. I think the next s90 devices hpefully pop up in the near future. Mainwile I think the 9500 is coming closed to a 3 series than any other psion....
Hopefully the s90 with qwerty will be the next true psion like working horse (don't know iff this is correct english...) for people who still are using the psion's ( I still use my 5MX daily).

Not really. The name is reserved for Nokia's marketing people. Example - Nokia 9300. Nokia have decided to market this S80 device as a "smartphone". Only the 9500 gets the "Communicator" name.

It doesn't matter what Nokia's marketing gurus say though, to me they are both Communicators. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck - it's a...

What I meant by Series 90 Communicator was a device with the Communicator form factor running the S90 UI. Well, to be accurate the name of the UI isn't called Series 90 anymore, after the merge with Series 60. But y'all get what I mean. :)
