View Full Version : countdown timer for availabilty Ismail 02-10-2004, 12:20 PM http://www.celluloco.com/products/customer/product.php?productid=249&cat=0&page= cant wait :o Guse 02-10-2004, 08:10 PM My buddy won Nokia 9500 commu and he was told that het gets it as one of the first customer users in world in the beginning of november. Guse  barflux 03-10-2004, 10:05 AM Tri-band Operation EGSM 900, GSM 1800/1900 and EGSM 850, GSM 1800/1900 from Nokia's Website. Therefore if you buy it from States or a country on 850Mhz, you cannot use it on Vodafone in the UK? Is this right? Ismail 03-10-2004, 12:16 PM yes that is correct jazzy1 03-10-2004, 05:16 PM yes that is correct nokia 9500 is available in oct or nov. nokia launch 9500 at an price tag of USD 1,015. Tovenaar 07-10-2004, 01:19 PM Ismail did you notice that the timer on the countdown increased from 9 days to 47 days!?!?! :o What gives? Delta737 07-10-2004, 01:24 PM WTF!!! That's bad news!!! Ismail 07-10-2004, 02:49 PM i just noticed that serousily isnt good news i hope there wrong Vicky 07-10-2004, 03:20 PM I don't know for wht Nokia is waiting for. quater system is not good at all just tell abt the month thats all. Delta737 07-10-2004, 03:43 PM The guy from Nokia at the Pub Meet said end of October, beginning of November. So just a bit more patience. And what Nokia is waiting for? Basically they are supplying it to the providers, so that they can release it! Besides, what would you prefer? A buggy phone now, or a "finished" phone in a month or so! Tovenaar 07-10-2004, 03:44 PM The quarter system lets them do precisely that: keep delaying while all the time saying "see we told you 4th quarter so don't say we didn't deliver on time" And Delta, it won't be less buggy in a month. The phone is done and finished a long time ago. They are probably delayed trying to get it to the distributors. Delta737 07-10-2004, 04:03 PM Not really "a long time ago". I saw a 5 week old ROM, and that still had some bugs! Vicky 07-10-2004, 04:28 PM So i think not this time the history repeats of 9210 and 9210i. Nokia 9500 is complete set. Right. I will wait 2 more months but i want my complete satisfaction i want a complete device After all a long time waiting for it if it take some more Does Not Matter me now. fin05 11-10-2004, 04:43 AM The 9500 was due to be released in Oct/Nov., but from a reliable source inside Nokia states they found a micro chip error that affected the 7610s and 9500s and are trying to call back any that are out to fix this issue. They did go on to say that it is very likely to have this issue fixed and these released before the end of this year. jazzy1 11-10-2004, 06:14 AM This is true. Vicky 11-10-2004, 09:21 AM Anyother person has the information on this topic. Is is true or a fake news. Miro 11-10-2004, 10:51 AM I had the same info. Probably 9500 will be released at the end of the year( I hope)! fin04 11-10-2004, 10:55 PM Trust me I've worked for Cellone/Cingular for over 6 years now and have built up some respectable relationships with phone manufacturers. I will not provide any fake info. I have been waiting for this phone since June and am very anxious to get it. Im free for questions if i can ever help anyone at coreya@insightbb.com. Tovenaar 12-10-2004, 10:33 AM fin04 can you tell us if this is worldwide issue or is just affecting some countries? COL 12-10-2004, 10:52 AM http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/commerce/servlet/gben-comingsoon-Main?NODE_ID=5223 so is the 9300 now coming out before the 9500? jazzy1 12-10-2004, 11:02 AM 9300 TOO Coming this year its true i think no way. Vicky 12-10-2004, 11:07 AM It is true that it is coming in this year. Nokia says 4th quater it means Oct , Nov , Dec But the above site sayd that 6260 will be in Nov but it relesed and Nokia 9300 will come in 1st quater of 05 as per Nokia site and the site says in NOv Delta737 12-10-2004, 11:10 AM This info seems incorrect. The 9300 is expected Q1 2005! jazzy1 12-10-2004, 11:13 AM 9300 is coming this month. or not. 9500 is delayed. Vicky 12-10-2004, 11:20 AM Nokia 9500 will come frist in this year. and nokia 9300 will come in 1st quater of 2005. see the link: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,60764,00.html jazzy1 12-10-2004, 12:49 PM Nokia 9500 will come frist in this year. and nokia 9300 will come in 1st quater of 2005. see the link: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,60764,00.html Thanks dude. RickyTec 12-10-2004, 04:26 PM Bad news: In the article of Rave's Expo Round Up http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/viewarticle.php?id=107 " Nokia 9300 and 9500 With so many technology focused people around it is not suprising that these phones were receiving a lot of attention. To some people's surpise the Nokia 9300 in particular, thanks mainly to its size, is going to be a massive hit. The 9500 has been pushed back to December, and the 9300 should be available in the first quarter of next year. For people on the road a lot who want to stay connected both of these phones offer a real alternative to laptops. Series 80 phones are a bit like London buses - you wait ages for a new one, and then two come along together and rumour has it there may be more on the way. " The preview for the 9500 is December! fin05 13-10-2004, 01:39 AM Not sure if it affects only US or all, but I did hear the 9500 would be out before the end of 2004 from Nokia. Do not know about 9300.. never really asked. I was more interested in 9500. I will note all questions and see if I can get answers from my rep. awyeah 13-10-2004, 02:50 AM Anyway...... so the waiting continues. People who want to grab it earlier than it is released commericaly: This is not a good sign as the phone would be a prototype model and it can have bugs, errors and defects, if you buy it now or soon. So wait your horses and buy it when it comes out in your respective countrie's market. Now we can consider discussing about the new london bus releasing a year or two after the 9500; the 9600. Anyone has ideas? Features it may have? I am neither bothered about the 9300 as it has quite less features compared to the 9500. I need a camera and etc, so if I upgrade an obsolete 9210i, 9210 I would consider one with alot of functions rather than just a couple. I like the design of the 9300 the outlook, looks better than the 9500 especially the shiny silver casing, pefect! Wish the 9500 will have these casings. Tovenaar 13-10-2004, 10:57 AM Not to discount any of the comments made on this forum already on release dates (as I'm sure many come from reliable sources), but I called the distributor here in Dubai and asked them whether they had any comments about the 9500 being further delayed. They said that Nokia is still informing them that they will have the phone before the end of October. jazzy1 13-10-2004, 11:28 AM U r right nokia launching 9500 in october i also to a talk to a dealer in dubai. comfirm.be 13-10-2004, 01:00 PM U r right nokia launching 9500 in october i also to a talk to a dealer in dubai. So you call in BELGIUM to a dealer in Dubai ... Ok :con? ... Like said before, the consumer is better off with a phone that is ready for the market (no bugs,...) and we've been waiting for a long time, < 2 months we can also wait ... What do you think? Delta737 14-10-2004, 01:18 PM That seems like the first good news in a "long" time! vineetamar 14-10-2004, 01:24 PM hey ricky .... sounds grrr8 buddy .... lets hope you do get it then ..... adios Vicky 14-10-2004, 01:37 PM Hope that u get, seems to be a good news. Great news, Hope you keep us informed! Oh yeah, Today I was in a nokia service center to update some phones (not in Dubai :icon4: ), they told me that they expect the 9500 this month... So all we can do for a change is ... WAIT! J2theIZZO 14-10-2004, 03:05 PM I hope it is released around the end of this month, but did anyone notice on the Expo article on the front page? J2theIZZO 14-10-2004, 03:57 PM I guess the sim free/contract release dates could differ then :con? RickyTec 14-10-2004, 04:19 PM I hope so! Wait for December no, please! J2theIZZO 15-10-2004, 07:53 AM I hope so! Wait for December no, please! True, I'm not looking forward to another wait, but if you are relying on Expansys to deliver on that date I really wouldn't hold your breath, in the past they have constantly shifted dates around and put them back. They did this with the P800 especially. Do a search in the forum to see past delivery date troubles from Expansys :) But Expansys also sell non UK phones, so they import from other countries and sell them in the UK/US, I personaly wouldn't get an Import phone as I had trouble with my P800 when it broke, SE didn't want to replace it. RickyTec 15-10-2004, 10:52 AM Thanks. I did the seach and it turns out that Expansys is realiable but often misses the deliver dates... I saw some members with troubles with the shipping of SE P800 and Nokia 6800. Although Expansys called me today to confirm the pre-order, asked me to transfer the money and told me that they actually will receive the 9500 at 27 Oct. They also told me something new: I would receive the 9500 in the first week of November... yesterday the date for the delivery was the end of October. I think I'll wait a few days before I transfer the money, till I'm sure the 27 Oct. is real... :frown: jazzy1 15-10-2004, 02:39 PM we hope u get the 9500 soon. fin05 18-10-2004, 01:58 AM this was just sent to me today from a rep at Nokia: They were scheduled to ship at the end of this October. Due to the error we figured, we have to place a hold on all orders as well as collect all the samples that were send out to out NMT. The error will be corrected and the mobile will be released to the public by the end of this December 2004. RickyTec 18-10-2004, 09:58 PM Thanks for the information, fin05. :( I'll cancel the order with expansys right away (they want the transfer - 800€ - to keep the order, but December is very far away to give now the money!). Another wait to December... I'm getting a bit angry, so I think I'll look for others smartphones/PDA to finish this long waiting. Who knows if in December they say it's in February or March like 9300? Vicky 19-10-2004, 03:42 AM Ricky I don't think Nokia has says 4th Quater and Oct is also and Dec is also in 4th quater and nokia hasn't give us any date they just say that in 4th quater. So it woun't delay it would be surely release before 31st Dec. J2theIZZO 19-10-2004, 07:58 AM Ricky I don't think Nokia has says 4th Quater and Oct is also and Dec is also in 4th quater and nokia hasn't give us any date they just say that in 4th quater. So it woun't delay it would be surely release before 31st Dec. Very true!!, all this talk of the October release date was never officially confirmed by Nokia, they have always stated 4th Quater, and if it is released in December then they are still sticking to their release date. I am very disapointed like the rest of us, but I think i'd prefer to wait for a Communicator that actually worked rather than get one now with serious problems. :icon14: Vicky 19-10-2004, 08:34 AM Me too want a complete trouble free device even if i have to wait it does not matter. i am sure this time 9210 history will not repeat bcoz nokia is quiet serious abt new 9500. Tovenaar 19-10-2004, 10:20 AM Assuming that some retailers do release the 9500 now (as the Dubai stores insist it will be out before the end of October), and I do buy it now, won't Nokia replace it if there really turns out to be some kind of problem with the handset? Surely the company won't supply a whole country with handsets if there was something wrong here. I mean we're not talking about samples. RickyTec 19-10-2004, 12:44 PM Expansys replied to me today and confirmed the 27 of October for the Nokia 9500. J2theIZZO 19-10-2004, 01:30 PM Expansys replied to me today and confirmed the 27 of October for the Nokia 9500. I live in Athens, Greece. Just the other day I went to vodafone and tim shops, they dont even know when they expect to be selling the 9500. On the other hand, at a NOKIA shop, they told me that by next week they will have it in stock. RickyTec 21-10-2004, 10:50 PM Let's wait and see... I talked to a person working at Nokia and he told me that there is no chip failure within the new communicators. He also told me that the communicators will be sold during the christmas trade. But he did not want me to know when that will be :'( Vicky 23-10-2004, 09:38 AM sold during the christmas trade So Its True that 9500 will Come in Dec.Not before that. Parmar 23-10-2004, 10:09 AM Guys, I'm new to this forum. Lost my p900 and thought let me go for Nokia 9300 as I hardly use the camera on phones and the size of 9300 wins over 9500. But saying all this I am a little confused as most in forum suggest that 9300 will probably be launched in first Q of 2005. I picked up this months Carphonewarehouse 's broucher and in it, along with the information on their website under "coming soon" suggest that they are expecting Nokia 9300 in stock in Novermber and no mention on 9500. Expansys's website suggest that 9500 are due in stock first and as yet to have release date on 9300.. What's going on? Vicky 23-10-2004, 10:23 AM Well Wht I Can Suggest u is u can see and even trust the Offical Nokia Site. Nokia 9500 is coming this quater and Nokia 9300 will come in 1st quater of 2005. Nobody except Nokia can give u a particular date. So 9300 may launch in Jan, Feb or Mar. J2theIZZO 25-10-2004, 08:46 AM Guys, I'm new to this forum.
