Hi,

As a current (frustrated) 6600 user, I'm interested in the 7610 but only if it moves faster than the snail-paced 6600, which takes almost fifteen seconds to initiate a text message and insert a name in the 'TO' box.

Is the 7610 any faster? As fast as my dearly-departed 6310i? Shame there's no IR on it, that's a great way to quickly share phone numbers..

hmmm the 7610 goes a lot faster than that. From the idle screen and after going thru all the options to send a new message and be on the entry screen took less than 5 seconds!

the boot up of the 7610 is rather slow, but once in i'd say it's pretty fast!!

you will lose stereo sound and radio though as the 7610 doesn't feature either.

But in my eyes the 7610 is far superior, a mate has the 6600 and i really don't like it... plus the 7610 is series 60 which is yummy

But the speed of choosing the message reciever depends much on how many contacts are saved!!

So I should store less numbers..? Yeah right..

Using the alphabet keys to select names is the quickest way of selection, but even to display my list of contacts (when initiating a text message) takes 9.5 seconds! The 6310 is almost instant, you press a button and something happens!

@kwyjibo, you must be thinking of a different phone, the 6600 is a series 60 too, and doesn't have a radio. Stereo sound doesn't matter either.
