Check the scanned image from the latest catalogue released by a phone retailer in the UK.

Like always, retailers (for some reson especially UK ones) are very "forward leaning" in their claims as to when a new phone model is available.

I suspect they try to lure new customers and book preorders this way.

Nokia still says "Planned in 4th quarter of 2004", which can mean any time between 1st of October to December 31st, or later (if the plans change): http://www.nokia.com/phones/6630

Can you name any one instance in history, when a phone retailer had better information than the device's actual manufacturer? ;)

From Nokia sources it is anticipated the phone will be release earlier than Q4. During September.

N.B: Software is still currently under development, so it can only be recommended not to buy phone prior to official launch (avoir bugs and have an official warranty)
