I am thinking of getting a 7610 but im not sure. Basically, I want to take AVI files off my PC (about 150Mb big) and watch them on the phone (im not bothered about having to convert the file - i just cant find out whether you can play large files directly off the RS-MMC card). Could i do this by buying a 6230 instead - i know it takes a different card but could i watch a 150Mb clip on a 6230 using the MMC card?

Any info would be appreciated...thanx!

I don't know about the 6230 but the 7610 can surely play large movies in more the one format,IE:RealOne can play .RM and .3GP,SmartMovie can play DIVX and XVID.Yes,they can be played from the MMC card.

I've had two 100 Mb .avi files on my 6600 using a 256 mmc card and a app called smartmovie with the divx codec so I'm sure it will work on the 7610.

the 6230 wont, 1. because its a series 40 phone 2. it has a restriction identifier within the handset...bit of a downer really, since its a awesome handset...really is..
