View Full Version : Radio FM
ITALY986S 24-05-2004, 03:38 PM Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum. Here in Italy, the launch of Nokia 7610 is expected for June. I'd like to buy in order to replace my actual 6230, but I'd loose the ability of listenig to radio. Infact, I know that 7610 hasn't a built-in FM radio, but, in your opinion, plugging a HS-2R FM radio headset via Pop-port, will am I able to hear radio? Thanx for your asnwers.
Is it not on the list of supported accessories on http://www.nokia.com/phones/7610
Or to be more exact on http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,54703,00.html
ITALY986S 25-05-2004, 06:57 AM I know, but, perhaps, they forgot to include it between the accessories. It's not the first time that this strange thing happens.

Exactly! I bet it will work on 7610 too!

kadooky 01-06-2004, 09:39 PM why not buy the Nike PSA fm? it is so much better and the reception and sound quality is excellent. I have one and it rocks! very small and durable also. I wanted to buy the SE HPR-20 fm radio attachment but decided on the philips nike coz its so much better
there are plenty of good radios , the point of having it onthe phone is so you only have one brick in your pocket and also no 2 things to recharge etc...
also the phone is always in ur pocket the radio only if u remenber to take it...
so there are definite advantages to having radio on phone. its a pity nokia got rid of radio on 7610 but i guess they though people prefer mp3 player instead..
anyways im sure u can get streaming radio over gprs ... just got to have unlimited data plan!

machtoners 16-07-2004, 09:11 PM Ppl,
Just keep in mind that the 7610 just supports mono fm & mp3- even if used with a radio accessory. I won't recommend to sell a 6230 and replace with a N7610 if stereo sound is a priority :)
nk_au 17-07-2004, 03:40 AM I'm going to try out a HDS-3 on my 7610 just for the hell of it. I bought it off Ebay.com.au and being shipped from HKG. Genuine, might I add
I'll try a HS-2R afterwards. Can't wait Nokia gets their act together ... cause I want the HS-4W and PD-2 Camera Flash!
Argh ... the patience!
Wirelessly posted (Nokia6310i/1.0 (5.50) Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

Please, let us know whether the radio headset work. I've hear that some people have experienced problems with hds-3. I hopo the radio headset will be just fine!

Any news on this topic?
ITALY986S 25-08-2004, 07:54 AM Hi folks, yesterday, at a Nokia Point, I plugged the HS-2R in my 7610, in order to see if it could work despite the official leaflet says no. It really doesn't work. Any non Nokia aftermarket headset with built-in radio available?
ITALY98S 25-08-2004, 09:05 AM Sorry, I forgot to say that the mobile was turned off and under charge.....In you opinion, if the mobile is turned off and under charge, pop port can supply power to an attached device, such as the HS-2R? It should be interesting to try with it switched on
ITALY986S 26-08-2004, 07:11 AM Reading the user book, I saw that the HS-2R, in order to operate, need the phone to be switched on.....I'll try later
wilson 31-08-2004, 08:56 AM HI, I also got 7610 too, has any one has try the head set inorder to hear FM radio, did it work?
Thanks

ITALY986S 01-09-2004, 07:01 AM Yesterday, I did another try, but, this time, with my mobile switched on.....The headset didn't work (the display said "Not supported"). :(
