Hi,

Here are the steps to add icons in the application area of the Nokia 9210.

1- choice an icon for your application.
2- Create with it 4 bmp files :
64 x 50 pixels in 256 colours (normal mode)
64 x 50 pixels in black & white (mask mode)
25 x 20 pixels in 256 colours (list mode)
25 x 20 pixels in black & white (mask mode)
3- Compile them with Bmconv.exe in a mbm file (see syntax below) :
bmconv.exe demoicon.mbm /c16IconNormal.bmp IconNormalMask.bmp /c16IconList.bmp IconListMask.bmp
4- Add in your code (OPL for example), just between INCLUDE sequence and LOCAL sequence the following lines :

APP AppName,AppID
ICON"demoicon.mbm"
FLAGS 1
ENDA

Note : AppName is the name of your application (i.e TextView), AppID is an identifiant allowing by symbian (to have it, see on the symbian website)

Now, your application is available in the extra display, with icon and name.

Magic !!!!

Alain

Hi, anh3xao !

I don't know the Java language so I can't help you anymore. I think you could find some help in the documentation included in the SDK package.

But for the point 2, just use a software like PaintShopPro to get a bmp file in 256 colors at the required size.

For the point 3, this software (bmconv.exe) is distributed with the SDK simulator (..\symbian\6.0\shared\epoc32\tools). It runs under DOS !

Best regards,

Alain
