Ok, there's been many arguments over these to devices and which one really takes the flag, And even argumants why this argument shouldnt be argued over :o But... At the end of the day, 80% of mobiles are sold on a 'What can I get for this much money basis' ... And Im curious - Which would you prefere, The easy to use nokia 7650, Or the touch screen feature packed p800? myself, a few SE and few Nokia reps decided to ask this, just say which you would preffere!
A few pro's and con's of both handsets if your interested-
Nokia 7650 Con's-
Lack of memory
Joystick may become slippy
Sharper camera than 7650
(the list just goes on!)
nokia 7650 Pro's-
Well.. as i see it p800 is so much better, i bought msyelf a 7650 cuz p800 isnt out yet but im going to sell my 7650 when P800 is out. But the question is when is it really out :D ?

I know this is asking for trouble but... I only bought the 7650 because the Sendo z100 wasn't out.
Having said that the more I get used to the 7650 the more I like it. The T9 stuff doesn't seem to work quite the same, but the Ericsson predictive text always drove me nuts.
I change handsets every 6 months anyway so I'll probably hang on to the 7650 until the next gadget appears.
Bahhh to touch screens and joysticks - I'm waiting for a gizmo with mind control... so much easier don't ya think?? ;)

I think that despite the fact both units are of the same genre, they are different beasts and serve different functions.
If you don't have a PDA but would like one that is connected, I say go for the SE P800. It has excellent PIM functionality, is expandable and is very powerful indeed.
If, like me, you already have an accomplished PDA (like a 9200 series device), the 7650 is a nice companion. When I don't want to take my relatively bulky 9210 (though for what it does, the bulk in non-existent), the 7650 does just fine!
Likewise, if you're a 'normal' phone user (by normal, I mean 3310, 3330, 8210 - you get the picture), the price of the 7650 on some UK networks is not that much more and will make a fantastic upgrade, also bringing you (the user) into the world of smartphones.
I don't see the point in going to a Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone 2002. By marketting its gimmicks as new (which they are not), Microsoft are telling the world that they are inexperienced and will need time to catch up with the rest of the world (I mean, they actually think that saying the phone behaves like Windows will actually attract users!!!!).
I'm getting to like my 7650 a lot. I'll like it more when I can get a connection straight to my PC without having to use my 9210 as a go-between. Nevertheless, I cannot vote.
I'd vote P800 if I didn't have a PDA. I'd vote 7650 for the situation I'm in.
Hmmmmmmm...... decision! Decisions!

Hmms I'm know which one I'd buy and that's neither. The 7650 carries on Nokia's 7xxx series well, by adding new gimmicky stuff to a normal phone (remember the 7110 with it's WAP, large screen, e-mail, and loads of space for SMS..... WOW!). The P800 seems aimed more at the PDA user market, by offering a reasonably well designed PDA with a lot of the features you'd expect. The downsides are both have small screens, and I can't imagine either being comfortable to use for long (i.e. composing e-mails, writing comments on this forum etc...)
In the market for a toy and something to show off with I'd choose a 7650. In the market for a cut down PDA combined phone it would be the P800. That said I wouldn't swap my 9210 for either. If the 9210 didn't exist I'd choose the P800 but only if I could use the keypad for text input as well as the stylus (I've not seen mention of that anywhere) as I've tried writing interpreting progs before but they are slow and cumbersome.

Wow - Definatly Mixed views here, :-? Even the Nokia guys thought it would be near 100% wanting the p800, as they will both be in the same price bracket (Within £50, $80 of each other) and 80% of consumers go on 'Whats the most functions i can get for my money' basis, However, I suppose here we are 'advanced users' :) , buying products that need to fit our exact needs, so hence the bigger division between the two. Out of the two I would have to choose p800 though as 7650 offers no advantages. HP JORNADA 982

i'll upgrade to p800 as soon as possible, because of the "small" flaws like:
1. no expansion-port. (a small serialport would do)
2. no touchscreen. / jot input
3. no memorystick/memorycard interface (4mb should NOT be enough for everybody)
4. too low resolution
5. not symbian os 7
but the 7650 is nice too, but i'll definately upgrade.
