Yes i know when i push it its works perfect.but do you needto press it hard? Ray 13-08-2002, 01:12 PM ...nope, then I'd say definately not :D Kietysack 22-10-2002, 12:59 PM i'm having problems with my power button it's hard to switch the phone on and off... not sure what the problem is... is anyone else having the same problem??? J2theIZZO 22-10-2002, 01:02 PM My power button has had it again (For the 3rd time) It becomes very easy to turn it on and off (Almost like a motion sension in the front, you hardly have to touch it). Then it goes dead, and it takes me 30mins to turn it off and on again. n1ghtFLY 22-10-2002, 01:03 PM i'm having problems with my power button it's hard to switch the phone on and off... not sure what the problem is... is anyone else having the same problem??? u mean by hard is it u need to press it deeply to turn it off/on or the button is realy hard cos mine is the one that i need to press the button deeply to turn it on/off Kietysack 22-10-2002, 01:05 PM can i do anything about the switch button... and is anyone else getting dust inside the screen itself... n1ghtFLY 22-10-2002, 01:08 PM can i do anything about the switch button... and is anyone else getting dust inside the screen itself... yes mee tooo i'm getting dust inside the screen too and i dunno how to clean it up  J2theIZZO 22-10-2002, 01:10 PM Dust in display answer. Get some screwdrivers and a cloth ;) Relistor 22-10-2002, 01:11 PM Yeahhhhh the same here i hate dust inside my phone!!! nickprice 22-10-2002, 01:29 PM i get really paranoid when i have problems with the power button. however the only time i've really noticed it not turning on is when i've let the battery run down, then plugged it into the mains and tried to start it up. i have to leave it minute or two to store enough power to start it. it seems to take a fair whack of battery to power it up. Kietysack 22-10-2002, 01:38 PM yeah plugging in the power in the phone thats how i can tell whether or not the phone button is working or not... and hope that it turns on... i have to push it in hard and hopefully it works... but the dust is really annoying!!! wahchild 22-10-2002, 03:56 PM I've noticed that the only button that the decal has started to fade on is the power button (prob. from pressing too much!) - anyone else seen this? malau 22-10-2002, 04:40 PM i have to press mine really deeply as well. not as easy to press as the handsfree/speakerphone/voice-dial button. levi 22-10-2002, 08:51 PM My on/off button is becoming very hard too push too, and the screen is getting dirty, and my phone only have 2 weeks....... sigmacom 22-10-2002, 09:30 PM I also had this problem with the power button: I had to press it with a chisel and a hammer! :D Anyway, recently I gave it to the local Nokia service for a version upgrade (3.16) and after this I can power on/off my phone, with an intense glance at the power button! :D FOX HOUND 22-10-2002, 10:34 PM i just take out the battery and put it in then it works fine shrz 22-10-2002, 10:57 PM Yep mine too, when i got mine it was like that, you have to really push and hold the button, it doesnt really feel like a button either, nothing clicks it just sort of comes on/off. Has anyone else got the side ways gap in there 76? on the side when the slide is down below the aerial cover there a big gap, you can see thru to the other side! thats where all the dust comes from    OsirisMedia 23-10-2002, 06:42 AM Yeah my first one I had to press in really deeply, this second one just requires a soft touch, so I was just assmuming the first one was a lil dodge, almost had to push it in with the nail on my finger rather then the finger itself. TANKERx 23-10-2002, 06:49 AM This may sound odd but whenever I have trouble with my power button, I blow hard into it and it works fine. Kietysack 23-10-2002, 07:31 AM tired that it doesn't work... we don't have a magic blow like you do... :D J2theIZZO 23-10-2002, 07:37 AM It does work for me sometimes, if you take the sim cover off you will notice a small gap on the left hand side behind the power button. NOW GET BLOWING :D Kietysack 23-10-2002, 07:45 AM i'll give it a go... And get back to yoo!!! MariosGreece 23-10-2002, 09:22 AM Laugh all u want... the power button collects dust... that is why when blowing seems to work!!! As to the fading... is the result of countless attempts to power on...!!! TRicKs 23-10-2002, 03:45 PM Nice tips guys!!! :D Now I won't have any problems turning my phone on/off. Just a gentle touch and its on! I think we're all so lucky to have everybody share their experiences here on the net. Kietysack 24-10-2002, 03:43 AM you can say that again, but it's still hard to turn on sometimes... is anyone else having problems with there keypad... example my number 1 button only works if i press it on the lefthand side... it doesn't work if i press it on the middle of the button... XP_Dude 24-10-2002, 12:06 PM Mine has just given up on me and was just about to take it to the NSC, grabbed myself a Spray Duster and all is fine - phewwww! :D Kietysack 24-10-2002, 12:13 PM where abouts did you use the spray dust on the 7650... pls tell me so i can give it a go... erhum 24-10-2002, 12:21 PM Currently sans 7650 - my power on-off button stopped working altogether and I took it back to a service centre ... now awaiting its return and rediscovering othe joys of my 9210. I couldn't turn it off at all and got worried that if I let it go off then I wouldn't be able to get it back on again. |
