View Full Version : MP3 player on it a joke?

:o I had read a article from the web site that there will be have a MP3 player program for 7650 (which was coming from 9210). I wonder the normal size of a MP3 file should be around 3mb to 4mb, so how could the 7650 handle it??

Yes its true. are the ones responsible i believe.... They have also developed an MPEG 4 player for the 7650.

One thing, Nokia 7650 doesn't support stero headset. :(

MP3's may be out of the question due to the 7650's paltry 4mb of storage space but Windows Media files (.WMA) are considerably smaller & could be compressed enough for the idea to be workable.

The 7650 is as large as a 9210 when fully opened, so why Nokia didnt include an expansion slot (MMC/SD/SmartMedia/CompactFlash) is beyond me. Maybe they don't want to entroach upon the 9210's market? Or they could possibly be holding back for an updated model within the next 12 months or so? They'll have to do something with the P800 hot on their heels.

Provided software developers produce apps for both devices, I can't see the 7650 outselling the SonyEricsson come September unless there is a major price difference between the two handsets.

p800 is much superior than 7650 IF 1/ its advertised spec is true; 2/ its speakerphone is as good; 3/ its screen is readable outdoor and 4 / it comes out by september as expected. my bad experience about the eric 380 which came out TWO years after showing its prototype is still vivid! i hope that this time with its partnership with sony (super fast in introducing the nr70 v pda-camera) and with its swift introduction of t 68i will make thing different. narong wit.

For your reference, P800 (should be P802, Chinese version) will be launch in HK at August.

I heard the 7650 memory is not upgradeable...
With that kinda memory... then it must have been a sick joke!!!

p/s: even with my 64MB MMC, i still dont think it's enuff (anyway i think MP3 is a "waste your space")

In terms of major differences betweenthe P800 and the 7650 the major one is that the 7650 SDK is free and available to anyone. I believe the P800 needs elements from other kits that are in teh region of 1000. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh and if you want mobile music, for gods sake pick up a MiniDisc rather than MP3. So much more useful, and so much more designed for the job. A good recorder is available between 100 and 150 pounds, disks (120mb per disk, enough for 74 minutes) are 50p-1.50.

I'm not that genned up on Nokia peripherals, but I'm sure I've seen a Nokia MP3 player that plugs into a phone. Would this work with a 7650?

the nokia 7650i will have an expansion slot for mmcs. it will be available short after the sony-ericsson p800. and may be some of you heard that mp3 has bitrates smaller than 128kbps :)

Man... i'm 15 year old and I got a Nokia 7650... I had 4Mb memory and I'm using Ultra Mp3 player... I got 2-4 mp3s on my phone... so........ to use mp3 on Nokia 7650 U need to encode it to 24Kbps an 22Kh... in this case the mp3 is 500-600 Kb... :P

Well, i am currently using 7650 with MP3PLAYER ( with 2 mp3 on it and about 1M free.... I am using MP3 RM Converter ( to convert files form mp3, ogg to compressed mp3. You need to convert song to 1600Hz and 3kbps in order to have a 3 minutes song in 800 kb.......
