Just got sent this from a friend who works at vodafone..
She was raving about it.. hmmm... I replied with the other pic...
Ok so it's not a symbian phone, but its a camera phone so I thought the comparison useful :)

Doesn't MMS downgrade the quality/resolution of a picture anyway?

no reason they will downgrade the quality of the picture, unless the service is free :) is it free?

nope, it's not downgraded at all, in fact mms is the only way (maybe email too) to get images off the phone, for some reason and some how sharp have disabled sending of pics via IR.
being a brand new phone (over here) I would have thought it would have had better pics than the 7650 which is nearing a year old..

I wonder if it would be possible to swap a camera out of a 3650 into a 7650... hmm..

I think the improved picture quality is more to do with the camera housing rather than the actual camera used.
The 3650 cam is set back further into the phone and away from the lens cover, I think it is this that removes the bottle effect and improves sharpness - also the JPG compression on 'best' is not as great as on the 7650 so you get a cleaner image.
Plus colour balance appears to have been tweaked - which would be a software thing I would imagine.

It's more the blurring around the edges of the 7650 photo that annoys me, the 3650 is a lot sharper. Not overly concerned about the colour or bottle effect (removed with photographer anyways)...

Symbian phones with camera built in will alway have better quality. Even if it is not true a developer will create a proggy that willl fix it. On the other side phones like 7250,sharp and pangd87(a friend of mine has it and the photos excelent but low in res), are only for mms. Nothing else. Resolutions like 640x480 are too big for there phones. But half of it is quite good for mms...

Doesn't the n7250 take pictures in 640x480?
If it doesn't then it would be the only Nokia phone that doesn't take in 640x480...am I right? :-?
I really like that you can change the size of the pictures in the p800 :D :D :D

According to Mobile Burn the max resolution of 7250-pics is 352x288. You can find some sample pics in their review (http://mobile.burn.com/review.jsp?Id=252).
