View Full Version : DOOM from WildPalm Mac 12-04-2002, 11:41 AM Anyone knows how to activate the sound in playing DOOM? I've installed both main application and sound file, but still no sound~~>_<~~ N9210 12-04-2002, 01:16 PM Have you installed Terra Force? If not you need to (Demo version or full) as this contains the sound drivers. [addsig] Mac 12-04-2002, 01:58 PM Yes. I have installed that game, too. Do I have to copy the sound driver to the folder of DOOM? Mac 13-04-2002, 12:26 PM Hmm...does it matter DOOM installed first? whiplash 13-04-2002, 01:55 PM try uninstalling both and install first terraforce then doom... Mac 13-04-2002, 03:27 PM Thanx..I will try it later. By the way, you can hear the sound as playing DOOM?? mbjoinery 13-04-2002, 07:47 PM I have a similar problem and found it was due to having the internal memory full. I solved the problem by formatting the 9210 and re installing the minimum apps. I then reinstalled doom, then the doom sound file, followed by tera force or any other wild palm game. hope this helps mark. Mac 14-04-2002, 04:16 AM So, it is not about the installing order? It's about internal memory after all...OK, thanx..I will give it a try.. Mac 14-04-2002, 08:25 AM No....I can't activate the sound of DOOM. I have formatted 9210. I installed DOOM and then its sound file. Later, I also installed Terra Force. However, I still can't run the sound of DOOM~>_<~ How did you work out? My firmware is v3.18. Or I have to install another game from WildPalm or where to locate the sound file extracted from Terra Force after installing it? PS. I installed the games on my MMC. Thanx mbjoinery 14-04-2002, 07:10 PM Did you re-format or just re-boot your 9210e. If you re-formated it then try downloading the files again, incase there are some errors in them. I am runningv3.62 and installed doom, then doom with sound, then terraforce. In that order, don't know if the order makes any diffrance and it is all installed in the same order but it works for me. all my files are on my 64mb memory card hope this helps mark Mac 15-04-2002, 09:19 AM I formatted my 9210(it was not easy). I guess I understand. I will do it again. Thanx for help. Mine is also 64Mb. mbjoinery 16-04-2002, 08:46 PM Have you had any more luck with the sound on doom? If not i will e-mail you my downloads from wildpalm Mac 17-04-2002, 10:29 AM I found "Sound" is ticked on the upper bar after I installed the 2nd game from WildPalm..However, I still can't enter the game. Whenever I click "Play", the screen just blinks a second and nothing happens. I'd appreciate it if you can email to me the 2 files. Thanx. <!-- BBcode auto-mailto start -->mailtomac@epocn.commac@epocn.com</a><!-- BBCode auto-mailto end --> (Plying DOOM with sound support must be great!) mbjoinery 17-04-2002, 07:51 PM my 9210 sometimes does the flicker bit, instead of running doom. I solve this byremoving the battery while the nokia is running. This has the effect of rebooting the machine. Now try doom again. The flicker is caused by too much system memory in use e.g. more than one program running hope this solve your problem mark ps check for the e mails. Mac 18-04-2002, 04:06 AM Remove the battery while 9210 is running, you mean with the PDA part opened? Wow..that hurt..the 9210!!! OK, thank you. Mac 28-04-2002, 02:44 PM Done...I have installed Terra Force and Melt Down, these 2 WildPalm games, and my DOOM sound works...finally... Yet, it's odd tat I have to install 2 games instead of what it says one... GhostDog 28-07-2003, 04:11 PM That is because wildpalm haven't released the sound driver as a separate sis file.I don't know why? |
