I have a N72-5...when i got this phone the 'end' and 'red' key were not functioning properly. I opened up the phone and somehow managed to fix those keys and they started working fine. After a few days i left my phone on charge while it was off. Onc ei took it off charge the phone would not start up. when i depress the power button it will not power up, no screen lights up there is no Nokia welcome screen. When i do plug the adapter to it the Nokia emblem is displayed in a monochrome screen then a colour screen and the phone charges for a few seconds and then completes its charge. During that time i am unable tot urn the phone on either. When i disconnect the charger the phone lights up and shuts down instantly with no hope of it actually starting up. I have not been able to figure out what the problem can be. Can anyone tell me what to do? I tried the green+3+* method to reset the phone but no luck there so far.

I can not type anyhting. the phone does not turn on. all i see when i put the phone on charge is the nokia display and a split second glimpse of the theme i have on it and then it goes white and all i can see is the charge meter on the upper right corner thats all. I can not type anything. i constantly try the hard reset mentioned in my earlier post but no luck there. Is there an alternative way to turn the phone on?

@nj7 - read and try to understand before posting
@Uzman - are you sure you didn't messed up anything on the phone while dismantling it? This could be the only problem. And if so, no code will work for you. Dismantle the phone again and make sure that everything is connected as it should be.

Since you can´t turn it on, remove the battery for a long period, more than one hour, then, put the battery and try again. If there is not a solution the only way is go to a Nokia Service.

Hey guys thanx for ur input.
The phone worked well even after dismantling it. Once i puit back together it worked like a charm for 2 days and then i put it on charge after which it just would not turn on. I could turn on/off the phone before this scenario(after dismanlting) but now its not possible.
BTW if this helps when i plug it into the wall charger the nokia screen lguhts up and the background theme is displayed that i had set. and then THAT screen goes white except for the portion where the battery meter is. I can make out the theme behind tht meter so ma guessing my screen just goes white alongside it not being able to turn on.
I will try what nj7 has said and if nothing works i will try having it flashed. Thanx
