I have 3 phones:
Nokia E62
Nokia E61
Nokia N70

When I connect the first 2 to the computer, I get a message on my phone asking me to select a mode: PC Suite or Data Transfer (or Mass Storage) The issue I am having is when connecting the N70. When I connect it, I get no prompt. The PC Suite is installed on the computer (6.83) and shows the device connected. What I am trying to do is to set it into Mass Storage mode. I don,t have the latest firmware on the phone yet (5.0616.2.0.3 currently) but I would not think that should make a difference. I have also tried a hard reset to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

N70 should ask about connection mode... But, just in case, do the firmware upgrade!

Yeah, I've seen in some reviews posted on the web but not been able to figure out how to enable it. My E62 has the option to enable it but can't find it anywhere in the N70.

N70 will never ask for connection, as is not compatible neither with mass storage mode, nor with IP passthrough. None of the S60v2 Nokias will ever ask for connection type as they are only PC Suite compatible. You cannot enable the option as it simply does not exist.

Maybe is like that... I don´t remember well any more.:frown:

It's 100% like that, I've always wanted to use the N70 as a memory stick, but unfortunately it couldn't do it. Lucky that E70 does act like this even if the transfer rate is quite low.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that wasn't the case but I wasn't sure so I figured I'd ask. I saw a post or review somewhere on the N70 and they showed a screen shot of the "select mode" screen. That is why I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out.

It might have been a screenshot from a N73 or N80. Only S60v3 and UIQ3 are having this option, at least from what I know.

I think I can access my N70 memory modules directly from the Windows Explorer menu, where the Nokia PC suite creates a virtual Explorer to access the memory card just like a mass storage device. The transfer rate is not so bad, feels like USB 1.1 when writing data, but reading speed is quite high.

That's correct, but mass storage allows copy or moving files without PC Suite. You only need XP or 2000.
