Search for an app called AutoLock. It's freeware and it loks the keypad without lock code.

I don't think you read the message correctly Ratza. He already has AutoLock but he wants to be able to unlock without using the unlock code!
Rather like unlocking a door without the key; impossible.
The idea of the code SoRiNuS is to stop you entering key strokes accidentally while the phone is in your pocket. It will only unlock if you enter a certain sequence of keys within a short time. So the code is a requirement.
I don't think there is any way around it.

Ken, I'm locking my keypad with left softkey and * key. I don't see where the lock code appears. The autolock period which Sorinus refers at can be found in Settings -> Security ...

Obviously I have misunderstood Sorinus. Sorry.
But how can you keep autolock and not have an unlock code? Perhaps it would be possible to have a short unlock code, like two keys only

Ken, look in security settings. There should be an option "Autolock period"

Yes I see the unlock period which you can set to x minutes. But if Sorinus wants the phone to lock after x minutes then how can he unlock it WITHOUT a code? If he could do that it wouldn't be locked would it?
Or am I missing the point here?

Glad the prob is solved. Nokia must be crazy by making the autolock require the main code. Why couldn't they make it require Left Soft Key+Star?
cheers

They probably left the opportunity for devlopers to make some cash on this issue. Lucky that there are some free apps for this. Anyway, the autolock option with lock code needed is very usefull, especially when you have many private data. My brother uses alot this function. When the phone is in locked state, a big key will appear on your display.

What's wrong with your keyboard? The software is called autolock and you can search for it on AAS site or on my-symbian.com
