for months ive been using web 2 browse the internetusing my home wifi,
but over teh last 2 days it has stopped working. when i select web, the screen goes blank, just showing the wallpaper and battery and signal bars but nothing comes up with my bookmarks on, thenm when i try and close it by holding menu, it doest close.

this started just after i installed msn live messenger, dno if it has any thing to do withit but its not uninstalled just in case

any help would be greatly apreciated. thnks

this happend to me so i just hard reseted the phone but its a pain in the ass reinstalling all the programs.

same happened to me. Soft reset did nothing, I had to do a hard reset. It's a pain......

This may seem obvious, but have you tried restarting? My N80 use to do that and a restart would solve the problem.

Another vote for just restarting.
I notice this only with wifi, not GPRS (no usable WCDMA love here in the USA sadly). The browser will stay at 0k downloaded sometimes, quitting web won't close the wifi connection down, and from that point I can't do any networking until I restart the phone. It only takes a few seconds so it's not too bad.

ive tried the restarting it so manytimes ive lost count.
i always used 2 do tht when the browser just didnt work or wifi was playin up.

You lose everything with a hard reset. So you will need to reinstall every program except the one that come preloaded with the phone.

contacts n other stuuf like ringtones go 2?

n can i back up onto mem card?

yeah it basically does a clean reinstall of the phone software, so you'll lose all contacts, aps, ringtones, settings the works. So back up to memory card or computer etc.
