According to My-symbian.com, an alpha version of the Mega Drive / Genesis emulator PicoDrive has been released for S60 3rd Edition. You can apparently get hold of a copy by registering on their message boards, and the download link is available in the relevant board thread here.

i use PicoDrive on the gp2x handheld and its wonderful. high compatibility and its fast. have to give it a try as soon as i get home *g*

Picodrive is lightning fast on the P990, one of the best apps out there...i think it should please s60 v3 owners now ;)

Picodrive is already available on S60 1st and 2nd Edition (including N-Gage).

This news item is about it being released for S60 3rd Edition, which is significant because 3rd Edition isn't backwards compatible.

It's S60 2nd Edition.

There's a list of all the editions of all S60 smartphones on the official S60 website:

Choose an Edition from the pulldown menu to see which phones belong to which Edition.
