Good to see that Symbian are proud of their past, see these two photos snapped at the Smartphone Show in London this month. I wonder what the film crew were shooting for? Anyone know?

Are you sure? I don't remember that scene - maybe it got cut? Still, the group shot is a great photo!

There is a scene where someone shows loads of devices to the camera from the original Psion through the classic and the Series 5 to the Nokia 9210.

There's a link to the video here -> http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/newsnight/2006/08/when_am_i_going_to_get_a_mobile_that_does_everythi .html

Just don't mention it to Jacek because it upsets him ;-)

I knew Symbian was descended from the Psion operating system, but I didn't realise it went all the way back to those two-line display pocket organisers.

Technically it doesn't actually. Symbian OS 'commenced' with Psion Series 5. Though earlier devices, like Series 3 and Organiser II certainly have some indirect part in passing on experiences, lines of thought and concepts, some of it brilliantly explained in the introducing chapters of Martin Tasker's book. http://www.amazon.com/Professional-Symbian-Programming-Solutions-Platform/dp/186100303X/sr=8-2/qid=1162442719/ref=sr_1_2/103-4553445-6651066?ie=UTF8&s=books
