I am 7 years in the UK. Been to lots of places here. Well almost everywhere....from the shpooing trip to London, to visiting friend all over England to boat rides on Loch Ness etc, Ireland Wales you name it. Since this will be my last year in the Uk because I finished my studies and because I am bored of flying for 7 years, I decided to take a bus to Greece, YES a bus. One thing is for sure, its cheap. London-Thessaloniki for only £99 return which is about 150 Euro/$. However, I wanted to see Europe :) ( Although I mostly have) So I am taking the bus from London via France via Bussels via Germany via Austria and Italy with the ferry to Greece and then by bus to Thessaloniki.

Its going to be me and my trusty 7650 that will keep me company. I will have to find a power source to charge it but I dont think that it will be a problem. The bus ride starts fom Newcastle 1o clock on FRIDAY the 13th and I will be in Thessaloniki on Monday 04:30 the 16th :D

I am soooooo excited about his one! :D Ahhhhh I had to say this...

Hey Izzo... wouldn't this been better?

"When an irrefutable argument leads to an unthinkable conclusion, the Wise human reaction is to nod sagely and change the subject."

Wish it had been a "Natural" human instinct. That way there would be so much less arguments in the world

I was quoting a Tory MP.....Nice to see nothing ever changes and our country is still run by fools.

Enough of the UK political parties....they're all as bad as each other.

I'm going to give my left-hand side a good work over.....I can never be satisfied (Nor can all of you) ;)

since we're talking about greece, have you seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding? saw it with my gf the other day and i was just wondering if Greek custom is really like that or close. because i didn't know that the Greek culture was very Pinoy (Filipino). thought i'd ask my AAS friends. 8)

Saw that movie... Very funny one there !!!

It was made to show how Greek families react in the States. The movie is not as far from reality it claims to be... My wife (a greek sheep born in New York) says its actually very close to the truth... Old Greeks leaving abroad are very attached to traditions and Family circle is very important to them...

But, I guess if the movie was made about Italians, Spanish, English, White people, Black people, etc. it will show the same thing, meaning how families and parents react to some kind of interracial relationships & marriage.

If you did not see that movie, RUN and enjoy it, its very hilarious !!!

Hi, back in Greece. The movie was great......and its VERY close to Greek customs when it comes to people living abroad....in fact my parents bought a house for my sister next to theirs.......I am luck though...I live 100 meters away :D

wow!!! glad to hear that. like i said the relationship and family bond i saw from the movie is very similar to the values here in Manila. it's really refreshing. and yup the movie was damn funny!!! :D

i particularly like the part when the father was furious becase John Corbett had been goin out with his daughter and when he asked if he could date her, he got a resounding NO!!!!! kind'a reminded me of my own dad and an personal experience i had very similar to that! the dad of the girl i was courting was a General in the army or something! scared the crap outta me!!!! :D :D :D

We have similar family realtionships here too,In fact, every country in the balkan region (Except for Slovenian people, they are more the American type) has those strange but good and lasting family bonds.Try dating a girl in Turkey and see what happends? When i was on facation there on a small island called Avsa i dated the daughter of the hotel owner, when he found out about it,he didn't do anything to me (I was a well paying guest) but he forbade his daughter any kind of unoficial contact with me.Well, there goes the vacation, not. After that i made friends with a great loocking Albanian girl from the UK :D
I have a firend that allmost got his behind kicked by his girlfirend's father :D
But they live in the country side and they are more conservative there :D

going back to the movie, how about the spitting thing for good luck? is that a normal custom also? here in Manila, especially in the provinces, (come to think of it, only in the provinces) there is a practice where in a person should wipe his saliva to an infant's tummy to avoid sending bad luck or vibes to the baby - grose yes, but not the actual spitting as depicted in the movie. hell i'd kicked anybody's ass if they'd try to spit on me!!!! :D :D :D
