View Full Version : Press/Hold hash # doesnt work on N80
gusnor 17-10-2006, 02:12 PM Hi,
my N80 has been updated to ver4 firmware using NSC, the toggle between General/Silent profiles worked fine on the old firmware, but not on the new ver4 ?
All my friends ver4 N80 devices have the profile toggle working.
Do certain ver4 work and others not?
I have:
v 4.0623.0.41
26-07-2006
RM-92
Nokka N80 (58.01)
chrsfrwll 17-10-2006, 03:02 PM FWIW, I was never able to use <press and hold #> as a profile toggle on my N80, even before the upgrade to v4. I've always had to use the power button menu to switch.
ut666 17-10-2006, 04:49 PM got
v 4.0623.0.41
26-07-2006
RM-92
Nokka N80 (01)
# key works for switching profiles...
TazUk 17-10-2006, 07:59 PM got
v 4.0623.0.41
26-07-2006
RM-92
Nokka N80 (01)
# key works for switching profiles...
Ditto here
bowman 17-10-2006, 08:33 PM I've got
v 4.0623.0.42
20-09-2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 (58.01)
And it doesn't work, but it also didn't work on v 4.0623.0.41 either.
holleboomer 17-10-2006, 08:51 PM Didn't know it was possible but working on .41 version..
ut666 17-10-2006, 09:42 PM anyone have any insight to why this is hit/miss?
had a quick look and couldnt find no settings in the menus...
Winfield 17-10-2006, 11:02 PM Works ok here v4.0623.041 (01)
Didn't even know of this. Used it a lot on my K750i but never tried it on my N80.
Thx guys. Regds
jasong 18-10-2006, 08:38 AM Not working here on my (58.01) v4.0623.0.42.
From the previous posts it looks like it works on (01) but not on (58.01) variants. Werid-ola.

sm1thson 18-10-2006, 09:25 AM working on v3.0618.0.2 (45.02) -on three uk
(and thanks for the tip i didnt know about it either!)
theskillster 18-10-2006, 10:46 AM Same as above works for me on the v3 firmware
terryb99 18-10-2006, 12:22 PM When I press and hold the # key, I get a message that says; "change outgoing phone line?"
Would love a quick key way to go from general to silent!
sloanie2k 18-10-2006, 01:14 PM I find it works for me on v4.0623.041 (01). I also did not realise that this feature existed
The '#' key behaviour is to switch between silent/general profiles, except when a network operator uses it for line 1/line 2 switching, instead.
gusnor 18-10-2006, 03:26 PM thanks for the feedback.
It worked on my ver3 firmware and it's in the manual. Everyone read the manual right? :D
Anyway, i think jasong might be onto something though? i.e. 58.01 doesnt work but 01 does work.
What do these numbers in the firmware mean? and more importantly how can i change from 58.01 to 01
?
cheers

Do we know the specifics about the "phone restrictions in software" you mention?

thomaslehner 25-10-2006, 08:27 PM So what about miss/hit?
I have N80 (02) and it doesn't work.
It seems that only (01) works. Right?
Thomas
tomnufc 25-10-2006, 08:42 PM Just tested it with my version 4 firmware and it still works
thomaslehner 25-10-2006, 08:46 PM What are the ending digits (in brackets)?
gusnor 02-11-2006, 03:19 PM I have just used the NSS, NSU, GSM-MAGIC to change my region to 01. Then i ran Nokia SU, so i now have the same ver 4 firmware but this time with (01) region.
Guess what? my hold-hash feature now works!
