I have an 4Gb MMC on N-Gage. Why not on N80, 4Gb?

Anyone got a 4Gb card working in their N80?

I've posted about this in a previous thread:

AFAIK this will require a firmware update, so I wouldn't hold my breath for SDHC support. The cards have only just been released to manufacturers as of September, and (aside from eBay scammers selling photoshopped / compressed cards) are not available to the general public.

I'd be VERY wary of the quality / durability of any supposedly genuine 4gb miniSDs. SanDisk are a market leader and only announced theirs less than a month ago before releasing them to manufacturers: http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news.php?newsId=4722. I reported a scammer on eBay last week who was advertising 12 badly photoshopped cards for 130 EU+.

I'd be surprised if the link you've given is a genuine (rather than compressed / other scam) 4gb miniSD (given price and lack of branding) and even more surprised if it was to work in the N80 without firmware modifications.

Thats a pity as i want more storage for mp3's.....guess i could buy another 2Gb card, i see 7dayshop have them at a very low £17.99.
I currently have an Adata 2Gb card which has been excellent.

@James761

Hmm.. I doubt it but maybe if there was a Transflash->MiniSD adapter you could use a Transflash card on your N80.

Most, if not all, memory cards sold are preformatted.
