if your n80 firmware version was unlocked and unbranded but you stil couldn't update it could be this. You had the uk generic variant of the phone (58.01 after n80 when you checked firmware version)
nokia has added support for this update today so if you couldn't update try again you may be able to.
Unfortunately there has been a storm here and my phone line is dead so i cant even try it i'm gutted. (im on my mobile now)

Yeah, just checked for updates expecting the usual bad news and it's downloading now. :)

I have an unlocked/unbranded N80 from Hong Kong

(46.02) after the N80

I get the update software to load about 1 out of 5 tries, lol.

So far, no update available.

All done! Now on v 4.0623.0.41 (26-07-06) 58.01 (was on v 3.0617.0.6 03-05-2006).

Oh my god i cant beleive it! After finding out and posting this yesterday I rushed home in order to do it, only to find lightning had struck my house, and my computer, monitor and router had all blown up. :-(

At first I tried the updater as I have v 3.0617.0.6 03-05-2006 but alas, i also realized that i have '(69.01)' after the Nokia n80......whatever that means :con?
