Does anyone know if the N80 has functionality to block certain incoming calls or text messages (by phone number) or perhaps a third party software?

The phone by it self, no. But with software, like Blackballer, yes. Search on software section of this site.

Don't Sony phones come with this facility as standard?

I think my last phone (Samsung D500) had this facility built in.

I've tested Blackballer and it doesnt work. I put private number and a second number on the blacklist. When I attempted to call via private number or the second number the calls still went through.
