It did same thing on my first flash. Because i never selected anything in the code box in pheonix. Refliahed again this time choose Euro pearl black and sync up nicely.
cmlewan 03-09-2006, 10:32 AM I use the plugin from novamedia.de for iSync. Apple iSync has no native support for N80 of course. When I upgraded from v 3 to 4 on my phone, I had no problems at all. It worked immidiately. Only that this time, there was no bluetooth bug, so there were no interruptions while transmitting the contact info. Nice!
Had the same sync issue.
Formatting with *#7370# solved the problem and my N80 works again with iSync. (Don't forget to back up!)

Just to confirm... you're using the v4 firmware? Which version of iSync are you using (or, which version of OS X are you using)? Are you using the novomedia plugin?
I'd hate to get the thing flashed to v4 and then find I can't use iSync.

You can backup phone memory to (and restore from) the memory card.
satello 05-09-2006, 09:45 AM hi thanks for the hint... I browsed all my phone but could not find any app that could do backup. is this from a 3rd party or does it comes with the phone? your help is much appreciated.
firstrest 05-09-2006, 09:50 AM menu->tools->memory->options->backup phone mem.
I used the Novomedia plugin to sync with iSync (latest version on Intel 10.4.7) with firmware V3.xxx.
Then I flashed the N80 with the latest fimware V4.xx and from then on iSync and the N80 came up with the errors as shown in the first post.
Tried synch with the latest Nokia PC Suite under Windows but it did not work either and reported the same errors. -> This pointed to a problem on the N80.
I then used the backup function of the Nokia PC Suite under Windows to back up the N80.
Next was removing the memory card and formatting with *#7370#.
Then I restored the backup (still under Windows).
The backup/restore did work fine for contacts, messages, calendar and the general settings but did not properly work for programs installed in phone memory.
Applications installed in phone memory were lost and had to be reinstalled again.
Applications installed on the memory card were still present (obviously as I removed the memory card during formatting!) but most of them did not show up (no program icon) anymore. I ended up installing all the applications again. All data was still present and after re-installing of the applications all (application) data and config was still there and everything was back to normal.
In hindsight, backup was not really essential as I could have restored most via iSync again. Only the phone settings and SMS would have been lost without backup and this would have been easily acceptable for me.
Since the reformat I have not had any problems again.
Btw. I did all the Windows stuff (including flashing!) from Windows XP running in a Parallels VM on my MacBook Pro. :D

Cool that you managed to flash your N80 from your Mac!
