Hi,

I've got a very anoying problem with my E61: it doesn't seem to recognize the memory card properly after having been rebooted. After a reboot, if i go to the Memory Card application, i can see that the memory card is there. I can also browse its file with a file explorer. But i can't launch any software installed on it. The icons of these software do show up fine in the menu and on the Active Standby screen but they won't start.

The even weirder thing is that up until a few days ago, when i tried to launch an application installed on the memory card after a reboot, an error message ("System error -1" if i remember correctly) was displayed. But now, there is not even an error message displayed anymore. The applications just don't start. Nothing happens when i click on them, nada.

The only way to temporarily solve the problem is to choose "Remove Mem card", then click Ok twice (it isn't necessary to actually remove the memory card) and then everything start working fine again. But it's gonna show up again the next time i reboot.

Does anyone have the same problem?

Oh no :mad:

I've got loads of software installed, registered and configured on that card. There's no way i'm gonna reformat it and reinstall everything. I did format it on the phone after i bought it anyway.

If you have setup a password for your memory card, remove it.

My E61 had some problems launching the applications in the memory card if I setup a password for it.

Oh yes, i forgot that, i didn't set a password for it for i did set the remote lock thing that automatically sets a password for the memory card. So i removed that, rebooted the phone and the problem seems to have gone! aloner, you made my day :icon14:

Sounds an awful lot like a bug in the e 61 firmware that I hope they correct with the next release. I don't think it's miniSD card specific.

YES, the following procedure worked for me:
Tools = Memory = Options = Remove mem. card = OK = OK, then physically remove and reinsert memory card;

This tip worked for me! I had sometimes problems starting installed applications. Strangly I could solve the problem by uninstalling one of the apps and then everything else worked again. removing the password solved everything.

Edit: I hava an E60 (RM-49)
