Looking for help with profiles.
Hi all.
I'm a new e61 owner, I just migrated over from a Treo (600, then 650). I'm finding the lack of flexibility and enhancement software compared to PalmOS a little frustrating, but I hope someone here can help.
I used to have my Treo set up to change from regular mode to silent a certain times. So the ringer was off from 9am to 5 pm on weekdays for example. There doesn't seem to be any way to do that with the e61.
Also, I've taken advantage of the Voice Announcement feature. The voice is a little creepy, but it's pretty easy to tell who's calling. I created a profile for use during the day at work, whereby there's no ringing sound, but the voice announce still lets me know who's calling. That works well because rather than using a Silent setting, I have used a midi ringtone that simply doesn't have any sound in it. So it's silent except for the caller's name announcement.
Problem is, the contacts I have personalised ringtones for still have their ringtones, even in this profile. I need to make the profile "override" the contact ringtone. Is thee any way to do this, or any way to get the same result? (ie get callers announced by name, but with no ring tone while in a given profile, even though they have a personalised tone for when I'm not at work)
