Didn't know where to post this, but I just wondered if anybody else has done this, and also peoples thoughts to whether Orange whould actually do this.

I'm on a Talk200 plan, and get free insurance. And I have a Nokia7650.

After a few drunken nights, and no case for my nokia.. if got a couple of scratched patches and it's gonna get worse. I don't think that any cd restoration fluid will get rid of them, but will Orange replace the handset if it begins to hamper my vision of the screen?

I would gladly help it along the way, and take care of my new handset should they replace it. But thats the question... will orange replace it given I've got insurance, or has anybody else done this?

If they don't i can always lose it. :)

Does your insurance cover accidental damage?

If yes, it might fall from your pocket one day and break apart ;)

usually with Orange they will replace anything.. And I wasn't aware of any different insurance packages.

I dropped my dads mobile phone and cracked the screen, and they replaced that then. hmmm I'll check their website for clauses in insurance..

Well they surely wont replace it because of wear and tear! You have to "lose it" or break it! I would "lose" it, because i might "find" it one day!

Check it they cover loss! You will probably have to say that someone stole it from you!

If they don't simply buy a new case from your local NSC and get them to fit it, shouldn't be more than £20.

Yes this is possible, they WON'T sell you the cover unless they fit it though.

Downside of losing it is that they want the police case number etc before they issue a new one. Also the old one's IMEI number will be blocked and your software will need registering again for your new IMEI number.
