Ok here comes wierd messedup rig number 2. What if we took a regular hdc-8l headset and modded it to work with headphones. good idea, but two problems make me weary.

1. The 9290 needs the mic to be attached to work as a headset, we would have to cut and connect the headphone wires after the mic on the headset to keep the 9290 fooled that the headset still is a headset.

2. The 9290 has only one speaker. If we use it to power say, two ear buds, they may be extremely quite or not even work at all....

I wonder if we could tap the power from the mic and use it to power both headphone speakers....

anyone esle have ideas?

Have you tried a headset adapter on your 9290? That's a good one:

No need. I have tried all that but then I came across this through seaching:

I bought 4 of these because I am uncertain about future availability. Total cost (If my memory serves me) was about 70 pound sterling or $130. You can order the adapter then us various brands of haeadphones that have a 2.5 mm plug. Just keep in mind that not all 2.5 headphones will work--I bought and returned a couple before I found one that worked. I was to discover a usable one with volume and/or answer/end buttons. Good luck.
