I been looking around, i have a old firmware dating 18-11-05

where can i download the software and install? can I do it myself using the datacable that comes with the phone?

But to answer fast: you can't DIY, you have to go to a Nokia Certified Shop. Check the Nokia site.

Sorryto spoil the surprise mate but you can do it yourself using just the ca-53 cable. Ive flashed my N70 to the latest firmware and debranded it from the horrible Orange software.

It's true, if you search other phone forums, there are people who have flashed their own firmware using the standard data cable using hacked software. Therefore I don't think that particular avenue of discussion would be welcome here at AAS. Needless to say any warranty on a handset would also be void with homebrew firmware flashing.
