Hello, I'm a newbie here. Had a good look through the threads before deciding to go with a n80 on orange. 49 quid on a new contract, Nice:)

Unfortunately only available in silver. Anyone know where i could get a black front fascia from to swap over? I've sent a request to Nokia and will let anyone know of the response if i get one. Also put a request on ebay.

Any ideas for possibilties much appreciated. thanks

All personal preference but I think the black and silver are equally nice phones. How is the Orange customisation on the phone? Is it really butchered ala N70?

looking further into the n80 forum you will come across a post about disassembling the n80 with a link to a place you can buy the cover.

They seem to only show the silver casing, but you might want to ask them.

Thanks for the suggestions, Nokia don't sell direct to customers apparently, so no joy there. Have sent message to one of their outlets.

Jay3GSM : Will let you know about the homescreen stuff when the phone arrives. Its coming tomorrow now. If its bad, i'll get it flashed at a nokia service center, like someone did for their n70.

I've heard rumours it may be turn offable on the n80. Hope so.:)

hi Vicky, obviously the functionality of the phone is of paramount importance, i just think if i have the option i'd rather have the black version. I'm just trying to see if anyone knows if its possible to get a diff fascia. I also like taking things to bits:tongue:

well i was wrong the silver looks ok.

can't say the orange stuff is too bad. Have removed annoying icons from the screen by disabling active standby. tools-settings-phone-stand by mode- deselect active

alll the internet stuff is through orange internet, but i'd expect that

not sure what else they have messed with as i've nothing to compare with
