have got n70 on 3 contract. Have setup pc suite and using usb cable to connect to laptop running xp. have put in details for ukonline and when i go to connect the phone kicks in and dials the number (with preceding 'D') but disconnects immediately and can hear the 'number not recognised' tone.

have looked through the helpfile for using phone modem and no clues there. any ideas?

Im not totally sure what you are trying to do?

Are you trying to set up a DUN solution through you phone? (Dial-up-Networking)

As far as i know, you cant just use the phone to dial the number of a ISP, as the phone then operates as a phone, not a modem, you have to set the phone to connect to a certain access point so therefore you usually have to use the service providers service, if they have one.

"3" has a Data Service, this is currently £15 a month for 56Mb, or £45 for 512Mb, at these prices its aimed at minimal web browsing and email retrieval only for the £15 one, or medium-use browsing for the £45 one, but you do get near-broadband speed (about 350kbits/s).

am signed up with web56 on '3' but was would like to get online via dialup as well when not in 3g area. Thought I'd be able to use the nokia as a modem to connect to the 0845 number??
