Hi everyone...
I got my N7650 4 weeks ago and I was a bit surprised over the fact that there is almost no useful freeware out there.
Another thing that seems to be really silly is that everyone that programs more than 100 lines of code thinks that it gotta be worth at least $10.
Now probably every good N7650-user will give me hell for saying that good software should not be supported... but good software should cost money!!!
NOW is a worldclock worth $14.5???
You gotta be kidding me, an application like that is NOT rocketscience!
If you want to support the warez-scene... that level of pricing is the right way to go!

...and whats even more annoying... Why was Nokia not giving us an simple utility that makes it possible handle the filesystem... or even better... give us a "My 7650" on my desktop in windows like Psion did.
Now I have to buy a filemanager for like $20... It is my oppinion that a software like that should be handed for no cost from Nokia. Goddammit!

SO... do you guys have any suggestions (except that I should "go to hell" or "buy a Treo"... I am satisfied with what power I have got in my 7650... but I want to be able to use it.)

Does anyone know if its possible to use PsiWin 2.3.3 or something like that to connect to the filesystem of my 7605. Im getting a bit tired sending files via IR, handle them as a message, extract the file... "Oh, that was file number 43... only go 27 to go until my lousy homemade database is installed"

Yeah exactly! Why does'nt nokia make a file manager and get this crisis over with!! I wanted a free file manager (nothing cheap, the trial version is over and i don't have a credit card! I'm 15 and i used to have one but it's somewhere i can't find anymore :cry: ) so i tried that free file thing that was posted here and was disappointed, it doesnt do anything, rather than see the files, i can't send anything via IR! everytime i do something it says: Not Implemented!

Whatever! Anyways, the high prices for 7650 software is probably cause it's still new, making software for a mobile device is'nt that old (the 9210 is'nt historic you know!) and theres not alotta companies making software yet, but as companies rise and new companies are born, and smartphones are making their debut, you can hopefully find better competition in software and stuff.

And you should'nt go to hell or buy a treo (personally i hate palms) but, welcome to heaven! Buy a P800! Long live symbian!

Well... The 9210 and 7650 might not be that old... but the Symbian OS is NOT to be considered a newplayer on the handheld scene.
Psion have been here for a long long time... so there gotta be a bunch of developers out there...

Well then it's only a matter of time..
Alotta developers are gonna emerge cause theres gonna be some cool symbian devices coming up, P800, 3650 (except the key pad), and that Sendo (it will go symbian right?) and that N-Gage "thing"!

Lets clear up the thinking behind a lot of Psion users able to program the 7650 et al.

ER5 had around 750 apps out there, the majority being from Hobby Developers. Now fully 85%-90% of those were written in OPL, a small standalone BASIC like language that compiled from a single text file of source code on the device.

This hasn't been implemented on the 7650, hence only the 'big boy' developers and Java Midlet designers (urk) can give it a go.

OPL is currently in beta on the 9210 series, (see http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/develop/opl) and freeware is out there for that device (FreEPOC (http://www.freepoc.org/communicator.htm) for one).

And before you ask, Nokai and Symbian havn't said if OPL for the 7650 will be available to everyone.
