N/A 07-11-2005, 02:48 PM Yes, you can use your own ringtones. Use PC Suite (http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite) to copy them over. MALICIAinc 07-11-2005, 07:47 PM So I can only upload converted midi files through PC Suite, No True tones? N/A 07-11-2005, 08:46 PM You can transfer any audio file format that the phone supports with PC Suite (Phone Browser). MALICIAinc 08-11-2005, 02:19 AM So I can only edit a midi file to poly ringtone, that sucks. Why did nokia not include the abillity to use true tones as with most new phones. ah well I guess having a touch screen makes up for it. MALICIAinc 08-11-2005, 09:50 AM Well I must be missing something, Official Response From Nokia Customer Support: With regard to your enquiry, please be advised that the Nokia 7710 supports the following sound formats, which can be used as ringtones as well: -AAC -AMR (NB-AMR) -MIDI tones (poly 24) -MP3 -RealAudio -WAV I still can only use PC Suite to edit a midi into a poly and use it, Anyone using a Wav or MP3 as a ringtone pls let me know how? Did you upload it or was it sent to you by one of the Jamster Crazy frog things? N/A 08-11-2005, 11:59 AM Just use the PC Suite's Phone Browser to copy AAC, MP3, etc., format files to your phone, and then assign them as ringtones on the phone. I don't recall where they should be put on the 7710, but on S60 phones you put the audio files you want to use as ringtones in c:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital in phone memory or E:\Sounds\Digital on the memory card. MALICIAinc 08-11-2005, 09:35 PM Ok, I Finally got it! For Future 7710 owners wo have the same problem: The Sound File you want to use as your ringtone needs to be place on the Device Memory (My Docs) and not in a Folder. Then it should work. My Problem was I first had it on the MMC then I moved it across to the Devic Memory into the Sound Clips Folder then into a Ringtones Folder I made, neither worked. But after moving the MP3 file out of a folder and just into My Docs it works. |
