Hi i just got my SimFree Nokia 6630 yesterday which i orderd from mobilefun.co.uk

I have noticed that when ever a sound is played on the fone eg txt message or the camera sound it makes a "pop or click" before and after the sound is played

This is kinda hard to explane so ive recorded 3 sound clips:

Silent (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.hill56/6630/Silent.mp3) if my fones on silent and i get a txt it should not make a sound at all but it still makes this pop sound..

Normal (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.hill56/6630/Normal.mp3) The pop sound can clesrly be heard before and after a txt is recived

Camera (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.hill56/6630/Camera.mp3) You can hear a pop noise before the camera sound effect is played and after its finished when taking a picture.


Is this normal for a 6630, i no its a small thing but its REALLY getting on my nervs

That doesn't sound right to me mate.
If I'm playing MP3s through the car stereo, the phone gives a digital click as a new track starts, but that's all. The noise of the key tones also generate a click so I have a silent profile selected when using a "headset". Probably due to the amplification.

But there are no clicks in normal use like you're experiencing.

What happens when you play MP3s?

What software are you using to produce those mp3 files? Maybe you are putting headers that the phone decoder doesn't understand so that part of the file is played as if it were part of the data in the file.....

The phone makes this sound even when not playing an MP3... but there encoded in nero.

So what can be causing this noise? it really annoys me so the 6630 aint ment to make it right...
