On some fones (K700i) there is a function whereby someone can send a txt message via BlueTooth to another phone.

Is this possible on a Nokia 6260? (if so how, I can not see the Send via Bluetooth)

Or is software needed, if so, which software should be used?

Not SMS exactly but you can send notes to other phones via bluetooth from the 'Notes' application. Of course the other phone would probably have to support the opening of .txt files to view them.
