Is an m3u file a way to get a playlist? Oggplay doesn't seem to support playlists but for mp3s at least I seem to remember a way to put a playlist in a special kind of file? If the m3u is a playlist, does something similar exist for Ogg files?

Better than playlists, OggPlay lets you browse your collection, choosing to play by genre, artist, album, etc. Whatever you want. No idea about m3u though...

I tried OggPlay on my 9500 and was stunned by the quality of the playback. Better than my ipods - 2G and Shuffle. No really. AAC encoded rips rather than iTunes DRMs.

Perhaps its just my ears and audio preferences. But worth a try if you have a 93/9500 and reasonable sized MMC.

I agree. The sound on the 9500 (and Sendo X and Nokia 6630 and Nokia 6680) is terrific. Unless someone really, really wants their entire music collection with them at all times, I can't see why anyone would want a separate MP3 player.

I've got over 40 CD's of music on my 1GB MMC, which is more than I'll get time to listen to while travelling in the next few months.... :)

I was very happy with Ogg play on my previous P800 but having tried it on the S80 It doesn't seem complete. I know it's only ver 1.64 but the following don't seem to work (or quite likely that I'm not aware of how to use them properly?

1) After finding new files (my MP3s ripped from itunes and are stored in seperate folders per album) there are no entries in the useful albums/artists/genres categories (they all show up together under titles/files or subfolders). I know this is only meant to work for Ogg Files but unless your whole album is ripped in Ogg this feature can't be use with MP3s and Oggs. Is there a way aroun this?

Also the one MP3 play list I have (done through the Nokia PC suite) doesn't contain any songs?

2) Volume Boost up and down don't seem to do anything (they certainly don't adjust the volume as I expected them too)?

3) Any known problems with The Zip Manager after installing this? (I can't create new zip files now and the whole program just freezes requiring a reset?)

But I do love the way it resumes playing after a call unlike the standard music player! :)

Any ideas on the above appreciated!

Thanks for the tips Steve - left and right! I thought it should have a volume control somewhere! (Not having help built in doesn't help!)

Have tried re-installing ZM to no avail!

Will have a look at CDex but don't fancy updating all tags for my whole collection!

Aye the skin could also possibly make it mildly clearer where the volume control is and how to use it.

The good news is that m3u files are playlists. They are simple text files with a list of the files that you would like to play in order. The program recognizes one of these files as a playlist and also recognizes the files in the list so it should work for all of you who have it playing. Unfortunately for me, the program refuses to play my mp3s even though the normal media player plays them and Ultra MP3 plays them. So I can't speak from personal experience about playing the files.

The patch release 1.6.5 is out. It fixes a critical problem, phone used to jam when a filename had a % sing in it.
