I'm trying to get rid of the awfully nokia tune that plays whenever I switch on the phone, it's a Nokia 6260, Anyone know how I can get rid of it

leave your phone on that way u wont have a problem, i barley turn off my phone, only when changing the sim cards etc

I'm unable to leave it on as i use two different service provides (Sim Cards) to change from one card to the other I have to turn the phone on and off.

Change your phone's profile to "Silent" before you switch it off. When you turn it back on it will still be on silent and wont play the sound.

Keep pressing the cancel button while ur fone is turning on, or the back/clear button.

Repeatedly (have to do it in lectures at times :P)
