Just some simple sw for the 7650 that I whipped up over some cashews :-)

This will either automatically lock the keypad or unlock the keypad when the grip is closed. Sort of like seleq, but giving you the option to choose what you want. And it is small too, so :-)

For all those who wished the App would save settings, here is version 1.1 which will do what you dreamt of last night :-D

The app currently saves settings as you change modes and loads it on startup. Uses \system\apps\keylock\keylock.ini (which is removed on uninstall).

Version 1.1 is not fully tested by me (I left my phone at a friends house :-( )... So use it at your own risk (it might format the phone, or make it catch fire :-) :D )

I would love to hear if this works as claimed by the manufacturer (ME!!).

One of the users (seanmiguel) has said that version 1.1 doesnt seem to save settings on exit
Can someone else confirm this ?? Also, someone said that when using PCSuite the version 1.0 reset itself, is this true of ver 1.1 (It might be reset but it should have gotten back the settings)..

seanmiguel has just clarified that settings are getting saved, so there seem to be no noticeable bugs right now in this very complex program :D

Hmm.. Background process on startup :-) Thats one that Nokia wont divulge, because of potential problems like spyware and viruses.. But I have heard that there are some who have hacks to do this.. let me see..

i think not,because if it comes up at start up,it could be more dangerous for our phones:
they could crash down(like they thit with selecQ-betas if they try to made it start-up with phone.
Nokia has no Task like this include,

so it will be better to let it like it is right now ;)

Oh, btw, i just found out that this program dosen't save the mode change that i have done. It resets everytime i restart the program.

Could you (talk2sk) add the feature to save the mode?

Okay, for example. I leave the program at the background and the mode was set to "Auto Lock".

Then i do my usual daily backup of my phone to my PC using the PC Suite.

After backing up, i open & close the grip (keypad) again, instead of "Auto Lock" that i've choosen, it revert back to "Auto Unlock".

I guess that when backing up, the software sort of restarted the programs running at the background of the phone? Also, i guess that the reason why is that the mode was changed back to "Auto Unlock" is because that its the default mode hard-coded on the program itself since it dosen't save the changes? ;)

Yep, My guess is that is what is happening, all the more reason why i should save settings :-D

Is it possible that it can autolock after say 15 seconds or a minute - or whatever the user chooses? ;) (IF it already does, sorry - just haven't installed it yet and never saw any post concerning this!)

2. start program
3. close keyboard

You must not close that program for it to work.

where can i find version 1.1

Hi

I have been using the keylock for a few weeks. Its been a helpful app.
But today, the auto keylock stop functioning. It will still prompt
" Lock keypad ? "

I have checked that the app is still inside the phone. I have tried remove reinstall, reboot phone but to no avail.

Current version is 3.16.

Anybody any ideas whats going on? Need licence?

Are you sure it runs on the background? If yes, check what you have installed lately! maybe there is a program that conflicts with the program

Press the Menu button for 2 secs! You should see a list with some applications! One is Telephone and the other must be Keylock! If there is no keylock the program is not running! When you run the prog you exit it by pressing the menu button not EXIT :)

Thanks muffy and others for getting people sorted with issues like this, I have been busy packing up for Sydney and more importantly my Laptop Screen BROKE :-(...

i download keylock 1.1.zip but after installation it say it ver 1.0 which had the background issue after when when your turn off the your nokia 7650 it reset and have to enable again.

how did you tell your keylock application to handle the grip open/close?! i had written a program like this to but it only works at emulator not at the handy did you had an idea whats my mistake?
