Actually, I was trying to survey and see what applications that phone users like us need. Maybe can write one when I have acquired the skill :)

Try the 'Switcher' made for communictor works well with 7710.. Allows users to manager processes.. (kill processes, free memory etc)

Some 7710 apps do not have EXIT, as result, the apps keep running in memory.. To release memory and see tasks running use switcher....

Maybe a very silly question, but does Series 60 applications work on 7710?
I know they are different platforms but just not sure.

No they don't. SOME Series 80 apps do work however

i will want the time/date to shown on the desktop the most, a UK road map/GPS will be good as well, the memory free-up idea was really good.

or u can write something to get the phone online via bluetooth connection :D

There is a pdf reader named pdf+ in www.my-symbian.com download section
it develops for 7710. it's free
But it isn't working so good in my 7710, i can open the pdf files but when i press "next page" then it closes itself.

I saw the DVD Player on my-symbian and looks good as well... tried to download the application and get some files, but the darn thing does not work.

i'm little disappointed with 7710. i used it barely 1 month. there is no useful applications. i'm bored of waiting applications. There is only names; lemonade tycoon, f-secure anti virus, blah blah...
but where is these?
the phone is useless without applications. My old series 60 7610 has more functions and fun than "newest" 7710. There is plenty of games and applications for series 60. i pay that phone nearly 1000$ (in turkey) and i can play only stupid flash games. This is ridiculous.
this is a lesson to learn. Don't buy the first phone of newest serie...

I totally agree with you, I thought it should support and have all apps, now I am regrettig buying the damn thing.

I should have read the mobile-review article on this phone before buying it. The only plus side realyy is that I can listen to music via the Music player to my bluetooth headset.

I think that something like screensaver would be nice, vith a big clock, digital or analog, because this original screensaver, the one that is switched on when you lock the keybord, is to small. And a doc converter, so we can use the Word files.

i think something like fullscreen caller (series 60 application) would be nice. The Phone has a "huuugee" widescreen, but when somebody calls you it shows a "tiny little" photo of the caller. thats ridiculous and laughable :)
