Use This Method when "Screen is White"
"Phone Start Up Failed Contact the Retialer"

1. Disconnect the charger and remove the battery.
2. Wait for at leats ten seconds and insert the battery to start the device.
3. When you see the NOKIA Welcome screen, immediately press and hold down the [= (Left Key) +Menu [.-
The Key [.- should be press at last.
4. Confirm that you want to format. Formatting start.



Note: This Will Delete the all the Files in the Phone Memory.

I Think This is one of the bigest problem we all faced.
And i know wht happened if a person buys a phone and during the next couple days if he face the problem.

I recently bought a Nokia 7710 phone in India. For over a month it worked fine and then all of a sudden one day when I was working, i just got a plain blank white screen. I took it to the Nokia guys and they reloaded the OS and I lost all my contacts.

It was working fine till I arrived in Canada and I forgot to recharge it. The next time I put it to recharge, again the white screen!

I got the latest OS version flashed in from a friend at Nokia and It did not work and this time my friend suggested the MMC card could be the problem. So one more flash in and all was fine with my SIM inside and no MMC. Things were fine and i started playing around, and this time I tried to change the default theme and bang! white screen!

I am unable to switch it off ( I was never able to), so only workaround is to pull out the battery. I did that & after 10 seconds, put it in and still the white screen! It shows the Nokia logo and after sometime it tried to load the OS and again back to the logo, a continuous loop.

I now see this more as a hardware problem rather than anything else. I had tried previously to format the phone but I was unable to just a white screen! no prompt for format appeared.

Any ideas from your side/thoughts on this...Please Help!

My phone is almost a month old now. Nothing like this has happend to it touch wood. But your problem is scaring. I wonder if something like this happens to my phone, I will really get mad. Afterall Nokia sevice center in my city has a tendency to complicate the problems rather than to solve them. I am thinking seriously to auction my phone now. You really SCARED me.

Hi, If I format my 7710 will it erase the OS and then reinstall it and all of the standard apps that come with the phone, or will it just erase the mmc card?

and how about upgrading the new firmware, is there any way besides going to nokia store ? like some kind of file that should we installed just like upgrading your bios on your computer.

I read this instrucion, but it dosnt work. Which buttons should be pressed and hold at once acording to the manual ? How long it should be pressed?

I guessed it is menu key + switch key + esc key. But it is not working, also tryied another combinations but have the same problem. After NOKIA screen my 7710 hangs up ;/

i have a nokia 7710 but i have a probleem i forgot my code to get in mijn phone i lost it but if received my phone back but now i forgot my code for my phone how can i reset that of do you now how to get it reset.

If your NOKIA 7710 cannot START ,

When you try to Switch it on, Nokia LOGO hangs on screen , correct ?
Also when you try to charge it, against Nokia hangs on screen, correct ?

You need to format it , here's how ...

I had the same problem so i know it how ;)

1. Disconnect the charger and remove the battery.
2. Wait for at leats ten seconds and insert the battery to start the device.
3. When you see the NOKIA Welcome screen, immediately press and hold down the
1st Options key (which is on the menu key)
2nd Menu key
and the 3rd key is at the right , its at the middle, hold down all over 8 or 10

seconds long, then a black screen will come and ask you if you wanna proceed,

then select OK and its formatting over 2 or 3 minutes later your mobile will be

ready to use.

Neither. The OS and main apps are in ROM and the MMC is, well, the MMC. Reformatting the internal storage disk is what you're talking about.....

guys i do have the same problem and i brought my phone to the repair center and the tech told me that he reformatted my 7710 but still doing the same thing.. and is it really taking too long to charge the battery of this phone?

im having the same problem with my nokia 7710 and whats happening is, it wont pass through the nokia logo and its just repeatedly do the same thing. it displays the nokia logo then a white screen and it will restart again. ive tried to reformat it but nothing happens, when i charge my fone it shows the same thing. what should i do?

has any of this formatting stuff worked for anyone at all with the nokia 7710 i have tried all the ways posted and i am getting nothing at all. also will having the phone flashed fix the problem for good????

My experience with a Nokia 7710, is the same. After few use, in October 2005, happens the same, I don´t pass the Nokia logo. Send it to Nokia Service Point. After 3 months, without any answer from them, I demand the resolution of the situation. They propose to me, give my money back, without repairing. Good news, money back. Bad news, a unit without reparation from Nokia. No more OS experiences for me...

i am having the same problem that venky is having the phone keeps on showing a white screen i think its a fault that nokia needs to correct recall the phones or something

hi im having the exact problem with my nokia 7710 with the blank screen and logo just coming up and repeating itself over and over. ive had it looked at and they say its not the battery so other than send it to nokia i don't know what to do. has anyone had this problem sorted before, i need some help. thanks vicky x

but when i did that, i press the top right to proceed, but then it turns back to the blank white screen. Could you or anyone explain what i could do? I left it for a few mins, and it still turned out to be that way.

Eject your MMC and try.

try carefully and press the buttons the combination ones and then press the power on button and let us know.

I did what you asked, hold the 3 buttons, then the formatted screen comes up, press/hold the power button. Nothing happen, what shall i do next? Thankz
