What series is this phone, what OS is it, and what sort of programs can be download onto the phone. Lastly how is data transfered?

1) Series 40 (not really an underlying OS)
2) No apps can be installed, no Java on the phone
3) Through a data-cable.

The 3310 is "Series 30". Very basic phone. No Java nor any other kind of new applications besides what's already on it. No data-cable or other connectivity (such as Bluetooth or infrared) either, except voice calls and SMS.

A muppet at school once said you could make the phone detect speed cameras and the like. It was very easy to do, and I',m not suprised it's a hoax.

It probably is a hoax.

N/A, isn't it possible to upload some pics and ringtones through a data cable? (not thay I've ever tried, but always assumed it would be possible)

I dont think it can do such a thing.

I thought you could aswell, that's why I asked, otherwise a data cable would be useless! I'm sure there's more reason to use it other than pictures and ringtones.
