View Full Version : Try my Operator Logo Maker
headshox 16-10-2002, 06:22 PM I got bored today so decided to make a small script that people might find useful!!

It will take any image you give it, convert it to BMP format, resize it to the required 97x25 pixels and let you download it again! :)
I will add support for renaming to the operators ICC code in the next few days, just gotta sort the database out.

headshox 16-10-2002, 06:35 PM I would just quickly like to point out before anyone else does that it has limited support for GIF files, some will work some won't.
This is because of the compression type, there are 2 types of compression in circulation. Unfortunately the most common type use compression that requires a licence to edit. I don't have $1500 a year to get a licence.
So try your gifs, but they may not work.

Although SeleQ will do the same Job but it is still great.

I should wait for a while then I would have this tool & the FileOp without any Dollar spent :x

Now work on a program which automatically sets the logo once ya get it on the phone, yes SeleQ does do that, but I wouldnt a free app, or at least some competition for that be nice :)

anuvat 17-10-2002, 04:21 PM Normally I use ACDSee program to resize and reformat of th epicture to be a logo, but it take effort. This program is much easier to do. Nice work and keep on.

I have a suspision it has to do with the way the images are streamed to the browser.

The company who host the site had an attack by some mallicious person and in a measure designed to 'increase security' completey buggered up the whole system. They removed write access to anonymous users on ALL directories, which means files cannot be uploaded. They have also done something strange with the FTP so I can't upload a page explaining the problem!!
I have sent them emails but havent had a reply yet.
I will keep you guys informed.

I used to post on this forum under the screen-name 'headshox' back in my teenage pre-university years, and I made this tool for re-sizing operator logo images. I had completely forgotten about this, in fact for a few years the domain it was hosted on, sdjb.net, was taken by someone else, but last week I re-registered it to myself.
Earlier I was looking at the web-stats for the domain, I am still receiving roughly 5 hits a day to the image re-sizer page, http://sdjb.net/7650/upload.asp Obviously there is nothing there now, but the hits are still tracked!
Do people still want to use this tool?! If so I'll re-write it, just gimme a sign!
