14USD? The prices these new developers *think* they can charge for their software is insanely high (imho).

But I guess where there's a demand, there's a supply.
Same with ringtones - I would NEVER buy a crappy ringtone for 1USD or similar. I would maybe buy 10 ringtones for 1USD, thats how much it's worth for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have my own webshop to sell software, payable by credit-card, money-transfer etc. so I have to use e.g. Handango.com

And guess what, they charge commission! And not a few cent, they want to have 40% of everything, now that's insanely high IMHO. Still, it's one of the best, maybe the best platform for such software distribution.

Now let's calculate:
USD 13.99 minus 40% = 8.40
USD 8.40 minus taxes, money transfers, exchange rates etc. leaves USD 4.- if I'm optimistic, per licence.
Estimated 100 hours of work, how many licences do I have to sell to get a positive revenue? Many... in any case many more then I already did.

So please, pike2k, how do you think now about "those new developers"?

Despite true, here are some basic economics: If you sell it a product a lower price, more people will buy it. So it could actually be benificial for the developer to sell it cheaper....
