J2theIZZO 08-10-2002, 03:02 PM I want them to recall all 7650's and put 64mb of memory in ;) erhum 08-10-2002, 03:24 PM This was the discussion from a few weeks back on what people would like to see fixed. http://allabouter6.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2033&start=0 Merlin 08-10-2002, 03:24 PM The Bluetooth Audio profile!!!! Kaichen 08-10-2002, 04:25 PM More Memory,Bluetooth Audio Profile and integrated Instant-Messaging would be very nice!!! :D wahchild 08-10-2002, 04:34 PM More memory Bluetooth Audio Profile J2ME support for SMS API, Bluetooth API, nokia specific API support for vibra, backlight, fixes for setGain and HTTP Apart for that I'm quite happy with it. :) Manowar 08-10-2002, 06:24 PM More more memory and more more batt life! ;) GhostDog 08-10-2002, 06:36 PM More memory, client abiliity in bluetooth DUN profile 08-10-2002, 06:39 PM More memory. it seems like whenever I want to install something on my phone, I have to remove everything else (after uploading photos). What a pain in the arse!! Beginning to feel like I just bought a £500 gimmick, lol. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for the menu key tip, I am another one that didn't take the time to read the manual (if its in there!). Cheers, Tsu MaleBuffy 08-10-2002, 06:41 PM I have a question! Since the 3650 and 7650 are quite similar phones software wise, isn't it possible to port the already BT audio profile that exists in the 3650 to the 7650? Wouldn't that be easy to do in a future firmware version? :) 7650 08-10-2002, 07:48 PM I have a question! Sorry J2theIZZO 09-10-2002, 10:14 AM Do you think if I sent an email to Nokia and asked them to upgrade my memory they would? I'm willing to pay lots for it, I want at least 64mb (User Space). erhum 09-10-2002, 10:24 AM Get real - the memory is an integral part of the device. If it was as easy as simply plugging in a new chip they would have done already and given you an option at purchase time. The week b4 last I was at the Mobile Commerce World conference in London and heard the VP from Nokia say that soon there will be devices with 'much, much, more memory' ... he didn't give dates, and nobody in the audience asked ... coz we all knew he wouldn't be drawn. Made me think of my 20GB MP3 player ... it wouldn't surprise me to find a 20 GB hard disk (in the form of a 1" hard disk) inserted into high end devices soon. Of course we all want more memory ... do any of your remember DOS - where you only had 640K ... that was a limitation of the addressable space in the OS. We still had this hangover right up until W98 (nealry 20 years later). Symbian doesn't have the same sort of limitation, but I am sure there is still a lot of set-up. J2theIZZO 09-10-2002, 10:58 AM I wasn't being serious!, I'm just getting a bit peeved with the limitations of the phone. :( GhostDog 09-10-2002, 11:13 AM It is an integral part of the device,so what,it can be changed, all you need is a chip with the same size and larger capacity,i've been swaping bios chips just for the fun of it all my live. erhum 09-10-2002, 12:00 PM That sort of assumes that the user addressible chip is set uyp differently from the ROM area ... I don't know. But I would be very wary about swapping out a chip in that it might then bugger up all the sw (such as the Symbian OS itself) which might be loaded on the chip. Anyway, I dont have a problem with the memory ... what I have a problem with is the bloated sw that developers keep on producing. Take that Steel Warrior game ... when you look through it takes around 750K by the time you add their execution environment and the game itself. Now it is up to the user which apps to load and whether they are useful ... but I woudl hazard a guess that if you removed some of these high end games and stuck to useful things that people might get some value out of (save time or share time rather than spend time) then you probably wouldn't feel so frustrated. But hey, we's all different and that's what makes life interesting. 7650 09-10-2002, 05:56 PM It is an integral part of the device,so what,it can be changed, all you need is a chip with the same size and larger capacity,i've been swaping bios chips just for the fun of it all my live. You're right it is a flash memory chip because an eprom is more expensive. They just wanted to keep the costs low I think. FOX HOUND 10-10-2002, 12:49 PM    so i have to do it the hard way lookman 10-10-2002, 01:15 PM Bluetooth audio profile please  Thanks in advance erhum 10-10-2002, 01:23 PM What is the matter with you people ... this isn't a vote. 20 different people asking for BT Audio and extra memory ... OK we all got the message. Just wastes everyones time when the same thing is said again and again. FOX HOUND 11-10-2002, 09:25 PM what about other colers for the covers and more memory |
