Just registered........amazing forum..........love this site......
Will love it more if someone can help me with this problem

I got a CD with PC Suite for 6600.........now i can only Backup my data from the phone, and it is all stored in one folder with a .dat extension........prior to buying this phone i had 6610, and using PC Suite Version 5, i could take the txt or SMS messages out specifically and save them as a Access file or individually as txt file.

It is pain to seperate out the SMS from the backup and the even if i open the file using Notepad, the format is crap !

Guys it will be a great help if anyone could suggest something..........

There are a number of message storing apps availble, the one called Message Storer saves them as text files i believe you could try that one out

There is also an app called Pc Suite Tweeker by 18Plus2 which will convert the backup from dat file back into a folder Structure. Once the backup is converted into files located the system/mail folder and open the file at will!!!

I agree, it can be extremely tedious at the best of times!!...needs a docking cable and USB connection for me. Think most of the time it is down to the serial connection with the Bluetooth for me though.
