Short answer: no. You can only get .amr or .wav files as true ringtones.

yes but can i have ringtones from my mmc ?

Sure.

but they do have to be in the digital sounds folder on your mmc card

and as a side point on page 96 of my instruction booklet that cam with my 6600 it tells me i can use mp3 as a ringtone!!!!
