View Full Version : Will it really be a merry Christmas?
langdona 18-09-2002, 04:50 PM Sony/Ericsson are hopefully realsing the P800 by christmas
but apart from them I keep reading hints that Siemens and Samsung are also going to have Symbian devices out in Q4.
Now I read that Motorola also are to bring out the Paragon 1 in the next couple of months.
As far as I know no official details of these additional devices have been released so far. Is it really likely that they will appear so soon?
Now that the 7650 is out there and selling well (if not very well) you would think that these other manufacturers would release details of their devices to try and get people to wait for them, which they might do if the release date was near.
Zuber 18-09-2002, 05:14 PM Other than the P800 (hopefully by year end possiblt Q1), I doubt you will see any other new Symbian devices this year. Now by Chrismas next year ...

upponalle 18-09-2002, 06:00 PM Siemens might have something for Christmas. They are really behind at the moment and they definitely have to catch up, if they don't want to loose some market share.
SwitchBlade 19-09-2002, 07:46 AM It'd be nice if everyone announced 6 months in advance like Nokia so you know what's going on.
whiplash 19-09-2002, 02:45 PM yeah, announcing a phone early -- makes users:
1. anticipate for it. (and save $$ to buy it)
2. makes everyone excited... the hype!
3. most of all, study and compare with existing models to get the best consumer decision -- whether to buy or not.
:P [/quote]
Zuber 19-09-2002, 02:58 PM Not sure about telling you so far in advance. Some advance warning, yes.
Usually, you buy something, and then get annoyed about it being discontinued. Even though the new one isn't going to be out for another 6 months. Plus it usually means that all the features you want now will only be avaiable in the next model which you can't wait for and that really annoys you.
Even worse, you sell your current device once the actual planned release date gets closer and then run into endless delays. Someone sold there 9210 hinking the P800 was due in a few weeks. 2 Months later ...

Dazler 19-09-2002, 09:50 PM Maybe you can get this (http://www.cuug.ab.ca/~leblancj/my_mojo/stinger.html) for Christmas.

LOL, I like that!!
I'm dubious about buying anything made by Microjunk. By the time they bring out a Sort of "stable" version we'll all be using Symbian powered phones for time travel.

Maybe this is the reason why the P800 is delayed. They couldn't figure out where to put these buttons... ;)

If that ever happens I expect to see the Queen walking naked into St. Paul's Cathedral. Let's face it we *ALL* know neither of those is going to happen.
J2theIZZO 22-09-2002, 09:59 AM The queen and time travel, or microsoft makeing a stable OS? :D
4u2nv 06-11-2002, 03:02 PM If Nokia release a new version of the Nokia 9210i it'll my christmas, knowing that i've got something to look forward to in the new year!
TheSpecialBoy 19-11-2002, 07:00 PM It will be, for shure. I am still thinking at P800-9210 Combination. Just waiting for the big Cash to drop from Boss pokets
I wonder if they can ever make a "perfect phone". It's not possible, cause the arrows of minutes will never stop ticking. New technologies will enter the market, but why can't they make something that's the king of phones? Imagine this: A super phone that has the same body as a communicater, slimmer, and lighter, with a swivel screen that's also a touch screen. And a digital camera in the other side, although it's armed with bluetooth (improved, like a 50 meter range) and ofcourse symbian OS *DUH* and maybe even CF card support! (but since theres bluetooth you can buy the toshiba HobBit) and it as FM radio and alotta space and a super loudspeaker!
THink of the possiblities! (....now theres a moment of silence where you don't argue, but think...)
......... (keep thinking)....
-4 hours later-
Okay i think that's enough!
