A couple of times now my new 6600 has seemed to run out of power while using some apps, the screen faded out slowly. This was the end of the day so what's surprising you say.. well it would power up and run seemingly fine straight afterwards then I would charge it up later that evening.

Is this normal, the battery tends to show too many bars even though the phone seems to be low on power.

Amazing.....I bought my Nokia 6600 2 weeks back, and I faced the same problem. OK the kids might have been playing games without my knowledge, but why is the battery indicator inaccurate?

Sounds like you are using too much Ram by running too many programs at the same time,or leaving them running when finished,which forces the phone into Shutdown or restart!:)
Nothing to do with the battery,when you restart progs are no longer running so battery will last.

Yeah make sure u always click EXIT or QUIT etc... and dont just click menu otherwise its working in the background...

If you installed screensaver remove it because it use lot of battery.:D ;) :D

That happens to everyone that's not used to the Symbian interface.When I let my phone to some of my friend to play a game and the give it back to me I see lots of app. opened that they have not closed.
