View Full Version : where'd it go?? p51 25-01-2004, 11:51 PM The 6600 seems to have been removed from the Orange and Phones 4 U web sites. pasa 26-01-2004, 12:03 PM That is bizarre. I know that Orange have alledgedly been awaiting stock for three or four weeks now and all the Orange shops were out of stock. I reckon they are clearing the way for 6600i. It must be the only option this has happened before with Orange in particular..... Unplugged 27-01-2004, 02:53 AM  will people stop with the 6600i crap Nokia will release an updated 6600 when it happens it will be give a different model number.... 6620 is an American Version of the phone and its unlikly it will hit out shored until EDGE becomes popular. Announcing an updated phone after they have brought one out is common practice... yu would be pretty pissed if they dident lauch another phone for 2 years. Have you ever considered that they may be awaiting stock? or maybe a Firmware Update to get the missing menus back on the phone that they keep lying to thier customer by saying its not supported  The 6600 launch has been a huge headache for Orange mainly because they rushed in with a Beta software and found a few missing Key Components. pasa 27-01-2004, 09:27 AM unplugged I dont get your point - you say will you stop it with the 6600i stuff yet you go on about a new phone but with a different model number. To be honest I could give a crap what the model number is the point of interest is that they may be releasing a similar version of the phone with not just fixed bugs but upgraded hardware also. anyhow it probably is just a stock problem... MrWolfman 28-01-2004, 02:57 AM pasa its for usa only at this time no plans for a uk release of the 6620 GhostDog 28-01-2004, 04:02 AM That is why he said a 6600i.Nokia has been known to produce loads of "i" devices in the past ;) pasa 28-01-2004, 11:07 AM yes that was my point - thanks ghostdog. MrWolfman 28-01-2004, 03:05 PM unlike there will be a 6600i however you may find that we will get one even more powerful to replace the 8890 series perhaps a 8800 :-) evrything the 6620 has for example but tv too tea maker room service that would be good ;-) pasa 28-01-2004, 04:02 PM yeah and maybe a go go gadget blow up doll aswell! GhostDog 28-01-2004, 04:04 PM They said that about the 6310i,9210i,3510i,8910i,7250i and i'm pretty sure i forgot some "i" ;) No need for sarcasm, this is a perfectly sane discussion.Just for information, there are couple of phones with a buil-in TV tuner. pasa 28-01-2004, 04:07 PM which phones are those which have built in TV tuners - I might have a use for that... GhostDog 28-01-2004, 04:39 PM They are mostly for the Japenese market but i think there just might be one for the European market, developed by Samsung i think.I double check and let you know. willbrady 28-01-2004, 05:06 PM Haha Ahead of you there PASA. Watch this space.... Will :) pasa 28-01-2004, 05:26 PM without wishing to lower the tone of the conversation - I can bet that what with success of mobile Porn that some device could be created to run of the vibrate function of the phone I know its sick but I bet it would sell truck loads.... technik 28-01-2004, 07:14 PM Orange have a stock shortage of Nokia 6600 at the moment. While they have just received a limited amount of new stock, these are being reserved for retentions and corporate customers wishing to upgrade their phones. Stocks should be back to normal in a couple of weeks. :D willbrady 28-01-2004, 08:15 PM Haha Pasa we already have such a thing. It's called the purring kitty. It'll turn your phone into a vibrator with variable speed control. Don't work on symbian phone thou, just the lower end java ones. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=9038 anyone interested text 'go kitty' to 89080 Will elton 28-01-2004, 08:30 PM I beleive Real Networks do a Live Tv app for 6600. www.real.com GhostDog 28-01-2004, 11:23 PM That is not TV.That is just a internet streaming video application. This is TV: Samsung TV phone (http://www.samsung.com/PressCenter/PressRelease/TelecommunicationNews/TelecommunicationNews_20030609_0000006235.htm) pasa 29-01-2004, 10:49 AM Will - I am most impressed - gonna check it out - but I was acutally thinking of an attachment seeing as you dont really want to get your phone messy right! Ghostdog, that TV phone is awesome - I dont know why it has taken them so long and the possibilities are endless. It's an especially good idea although I am sure people like vemotion (http://www.vemotion.com/support/index.html) won't think so? GhostDog 29-01-2004, 04:27 PM Sadly,I don't think we'll see a TV phone in Europe in the near future,so vemotion have nothing to worry about ;) pasa 29-01-2004, 04:44 PM The way things are going with the BBC at the moment we'll probably be paying for all TV services soon. |
